Take me down to the river, underneath the blood orange sun.  Say my name like a scripture. Keep my heart beating like a drum.

****************************************************************************************************************

We go out onto the dance floor and he places his arms around my waist and I place my arms around his neck.  We just stop talking for a little and just dance.  I look up at him, and he is looking to the left.

"Carter?" I ask.

"Yes An?" He asks.

"Can we go home?" I ask.

"What about Jenni?" He asks.

"She'll get a ride from Layla." I say.

"Then I guess we can go home.  What is home?" He asks smirking.

"I don't know.  Are your parents home right now?" I ask.

"Why?" He says wiggiling his eyebrows.

I slap him on the shoulder and he just laughs.

"No because it would be bad if my mom and dad saw you come in, see they don't really like you right now." I say.

"Why?" he asks.

"I have no clue Cart. but it's nothing to be worried about." I say.

"Then let's go to my house, my parents aren't in town right now.  I have the house to myself." He says grabbing my hand.  I lace my fingers through his even though I don't know what we were right now.  He squeezes my hand and we walk outside.  We walk across the parking lot and get to my car.

"Hey carter?" I ask.

"Yes mi'lady?" He says.

"Can we like go to my house very quickly, so I can grab some clothes for tonight and tomorrow?" I ask.

"Doesn't that mean you would have to sneak into your house, how naughty." He says smirking.

"Yes it would, but it's okay. Let's go." I say tossing him my keys.

"I'm driving?" he asks.

"Yes." I say sliding into the passenger seat.

*30 minutes later we arrive at my house*

I get out of the car and quietly open the front door of my house and get up into my room.  I grab some clothes for tonight and tomorrow and put them in a small bag.  I quietly go down my stairs and unlock the front door, and walk across my grass to my car.  Then I just thought of something, what would happen if my mom and dad didn't see my car in the driveway they might think something bad happened to me.  I then get an idea in my head and text my mom that I'm staying at layla's house for the night.  I get in the passenger seat and turn toward Carter.

"Drive." I say to him.

"I will." He says

"K go." I say.

"But first, I have to do something." He says turning toward me, and grabbing a hold of my hands.  He leans down and kisses me for the third time tonight.

"Cart."

"I'm sorry I had to." He says and turns on the car.  He drives down the street and parks at his house.  He turns off the car and opens his door. He walks up to his house and then stops.

"Shoot." He says.

"What?" I ask.

"I don't exactly have a key to my house." He says.
