Chapter 11: Prom

3 hours till prom and I was still stuck at Layla's house. She was freaking out about what dress to wear..

"Layla. Just pick one and stop complaining." I say sighing.

"Why are you in such a hurry?" Layla asks.

"Well I sorta have to get home to get ready." I say biting my lip.

"Wait someone asked you to prom anna." She says grinning like an idiot.

"Yeah a friend. Carter." I say.

"Carter Long,asked you to prom?" Layla asks.

"Yes now can I leave?" I ask.

"Yes." She says pushing me out of her room.

I run down her stairs and out her door and get in my car knowing I only had like an hour to get ready. I take a long time to do my hair and I know that prom hair needs to be perfect. I get home in like 10 minutes and go straight up to my room. I go into my secluded bathroom and sit in my vanity chair. I grab my makeup bag and place it infront of me. Do I want to go more natural or more made up? I'll go with natural. I grab my Naked Pallette and find the most tan color and start applying it to my eyelid. I grab the eyeliner and set a thin line to my eyelid. Then I grab my eyelashes curler and curl my eyelashes and add mascara. I finish it off by adding a little bit of strawberry lipgloss.

YES it tasted like strawberries. For my hair I was thinking of doing something fancy but now that I don't have time to do that I was just going to curl my hair. That takes about 20 minutes and then I go out to room and grab my dress. I glance at my clock and it says 6:45. Shit.

I slide my dress on and it goes to about 2 inches above my knee and then I slide on my black high heels. I grab whatever jewerly matches my dress and put it on. 5 minutes til Carter will be here. I grab my side purse and slide my phone into it and my wallet. I walk down the stairs and hear voices. Was Carter already here? I walk into the kitchen and there he is, talking to my mom and dad. Oh Joy.

"Hey Carter, mom." I say smiling.

"Oh hey sweetie, I was just having a chat with Carter about your old baby pictures." Mom says grinning.

"MOM. no don't do that." I say grabbing the baby pictures from her hands.

"But you were so cute when you were little Anna." Carter says grinning like a child.

"Can we just stop talking about this now." I say blushing a little and putting the pictures on the kitchen counter.

"Yes Anna. It was nice talking to you Mrs.Connors." Carter says before grabbing my wrist and dragging me out to the front door. He is grinning the whole way and then unlocks the front door.

Once we are outside I push him into the wall.

"Woah woah. What are you doing Anna." Carter says.

"Please don't tell me you saw any of those pictures." I say pinning Carter with my hand to his shoulders.

"I didn't, I promise. Jeez girl stop pushing on me, it hurts." Carter says pushing me off of him.

"Sorry." I say giggling and blushing.

"You blush fast Anna." Carter says grinning.

"Are you happy about that?" I ask following him to his mustang which he put the top on for this event.

"Very happy." Carter says.

"Stop it." I say pushing him over.

He then pushes me against his car.

"Nope." He says near my ear.

I then got tingles all through my body, could I have a crush on Carter?

"Okay." I say breathing heavy.

"Alright." He says walking me over to the passenger side of the car and opening my door for me. I slowly sit in the seat and watch as he walks over to his side of the car.

He starts driving toward the school for prom and pulls into a parking spot. He turns toward me and pulls out a corsage out of his tux pocket and reaches out for my hand to put the corsage on. I give it to him and he slides the corsage on.

"Thanks for telling me to go Carter." I say while smiling.

"I was going to make you go, I wasn't going by myself." Carter says smirking and opening his car door and coming over to my side to open my door.

"Thank you Mr.Long." I say grinning up at him.

"No problem Miss.Connors." Carter says putting his arm through mine and walking into the school doors.

We walk into the school and go into the gym where the prom is being held. Carter turns toward me.

"I'm going to go get us some punch." Carter starts walking in the direction of the punch table, and I just stand there awkwardly.

"Annaleigh Connors." Jenni says.

"Where did you come from? Out of nowhere?" I ask.

"I was right next to you, you idiot." Jenni says while a boy comes back and gives her a cup of punch.

"This is my prom date Kyle." Jenni says smiling.

"Nice to meet you kyle." I say and then see Carter coming back to me. He turns toward Jenni and grins.

"Hey Jenni you look very beautiful." he says smirking.

"Thank you Carter." Jenni says smiling with a small blush coming to her cheeks, and then gets dragged away by kyle.

"That was sweet of you Carter." I say smiling.

"I know i'm just so sweet, aren't I?" he asks.

"Yeah who knew that could happen." I say and smile.

"Hey you're mean." Carter says and pouts.

"Nah." I say.

"Want to dance?" Carter asks.

"Sure." I say letting him lead me out to the dance floor.

He stands in front of me and smile placing his hands gently on my waist, and his dimples clearly showing thorough his cheeks. He was very handsome wasn't he? I put my arms around Carter's neck very gently as if he as a procelian doll and I didn't want to hurt him.

We move down a little through the dance floor before we are near a secluded area where all the couples were making out.. I look up at Carter and smile,

"Why are we near all the couples who are making out?" I ask quietly as he laughs a little.

"Because I want to make to make out with you obviously.." He says his dimples shining on his cheeks as he bends over with laughter.

"No seriously.." I say putting my arms over my chest.

"Oh calm down Anna." He says putting his hands on my shoulders.

I roll my eyes and smile a little up at him and he smiles down at me..
