I didn't know what I was doing at a prom, when I could be home just sipping some hot chocolate, while laying on my couch instead, but when Carter asked me to come, well I couldn't say no, could I?  Looking up at the boy in front of me, I sigh and look down.

"You okay?" Carter asks me, bring his hand to the side of my face.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine." I look up at the boy in front of me, with a smile on my face.

"You sure?" He asked with another smile.

"Yes." I say, with a small laugh.

Carter leads us out to the middle of the dance floor, and places his hands back on my waist, as I place mine around his neck again.  Thank god we were away from the make out area, I was getting slightly uncomfortable around those people.  Like go home, why are you here making out in front of everyone?

Carter looks down at me with a small smile on his face, "Hey want to go to my house, I was thinking of baking cookies."

I let out a small laugh and look up at him, "You. Baking cookies. That's funny."

Carter looks down at me with a serious expression, "Anna, I was being serious."

"Fine, fine. Let me just go say bye to Layla." I let go of Carter, and walk over to where Layla was.

She's talking to a few of her other friends, and I lean against the wall waiting for her to notice me.  She doesn't notice me, so I stand in front of her, until she looks up.

"Oh, hey Anna." She says with a small smile on her face.

"I'm leaving, I'm going to Carter's house." I said with raised eyebrows.

"YOU'RE GOING TO CARTER'S HOUSE?" She said a little too loudly.

"Yes, Layla. Stop being so loud. We're just baking cookies." I said sighing a little.

"You have fun, Anna. You deserve this." She said pushing me where Carter was, in front of the door.

Carter and I walk out next to each other,  before I feel his hand getting closer to mine.  He wanted to hold my hand, was I going to let him? Yes.  I feel his hand interlock with mine, and I smile a little to myself.  I look over at him, and he bends down a little closer to me, stopping us in the middle of sidewalk.

"What are you doing, Cart-."

I was stopped by him kissing me.  My eyes widened as he kissed me, and then he pulled back.  He continued walking like nothing happened, and I stopped.

"You just kissed me, and you're going to act like nothing happened, Carter."

"Exactly, or else it will get awkward, and no one wants that." He said unlocking his door, and opening the passenger door for me.

He had a point, if we did talk about the kiss, then yes it would have gotten awkward and I probably would have walked or ran away from him.  That's just what I do, try to get away from awkward situations, and I hated them so much.

Clicking my seatbelt into place, I watched as Carter got into the mustang, and did the same thing.  He turned on the ignition, and turned the music up a little.  I placed my arm on the arm rest between us, and he interlocked our hands together again.  Why was I liking this so much, I didn't like him. We were just friends, and only friends. Right?

Ugh, why are boys so confusing sometimes, I have to believe that I have a crush on Carter, and he has one on me.  It's as easy as pie, right?  Stop asking yourself questions, Anna.

Upon seeing Carter's house up in front of us, I let go of his hand, and place them both in my lap of my dress.  Hopefully Carter would see that nothing was going on between us, so our friendship wouldn't be any more awkward.

Parking, Carter turned off the car, and go out.  Walking over to my door, and opening it up for me, so I could get out as well. Pulling myself out of the car, I took off my heels, and walked towards his front door.  Carter unlocked it, and let me in first, and then locked it back up.

"Where are your parents?" I asked.

"They went out for the weekend." He said with a shrug of his shoulders.

I walked into the kitchen, and looked back at Carter who had disappeared, so I took a seat on the kitchen counter, making sure to cross my legs. No one needed to see the underwear I was wearing.  I looked down at the tile flooring, getting lost in the 4 by 4 blocks, and I hadn't noticed that Carter had come back into the room, holding a pile of clothes.

"Here, change into these clothes.  Wouldn't want your beautiful dress to get ruined, now would we?" He said with a wink, as he picked me up off the counter, bridal style, and then put me down on my feet, and pushed me towards the bathroom.  I found myself in a blue styled bathroom, very blue styled.  Everything was blue in this room.  I looked at the clothes in my hand, and smiled a bit.  Pulling my dress off, I pulled up his grey sweatpants, which were way to big for me, so I had to roll them over, and then I pulled on his black muscle tee shirt, which actually looked good on me.  For my hair, I grabbed the extra hair tie on my wrist, and brought my hair up into a high ponytail.

Walking out of the bathroom, I smiled a bit, as I noticed Carter had changed as well.  He had on a pair of the same grey sweatpants as me, and a white muscle tee instead.  Carter's glum face, changed as soon as I came out of the bathroom.  His gorgeous smile came out on his face, and he looked as happy as ever.

"Wow, you totally rock my outfits. Why aren't you my girlfriend, we'd be such goals." He said with a small laugh, and then a slightly sad expression on his face.

"Well, you never asked me to be your girlfriend, bud." I said with a wink, and then a smile after.

Carter let out a small laugh, and pulled me a little closer.  Placing his hands on my hips, he looked down at me.

"Annaleigh, will you please be my girlfriend?" He asked with a breath of air afterwards.
