a month later..

Things did get better for Jodie, she was a bit happier because it was her birthday today and she was allowed to travel to go see her Grandma that was all the way in Dallas. Colin wasn't going for some reason but she didn't mind because she wants peace. Jodie happily waltzed around the kitchen with Sadie on her hip. Her hair down and she wore this beautiful white dress, she looked so happy that it made the twins happy. They sat in front of her and they looked at her as she waited for her cake to be finished.

Casper was coming over and he said that had three surprises for her, she was so excited and she could hardly sit down. "Momma, mira lo que hice. Momma look what I made." Sawyer says and Jodie grinned as she looked at the paper, it was her and Sawyer free her with all three of them. "It's so beautiful." Jodie says and she leaned down then kissed the corner of his mouth, he blushed as he gets another piece of paper and he draws his momma some more pictures.

Jodie hung the picture on the fridge with a magnet, she looked at the rest of the drawings Sawyer and Lana drew for him and she could hear a car motor, it was very familiar car motor and she gasped. "There's no way." She whispered as she carried Sadie out the kitchen, the twins followed behind there Momma as she went out to the porch.

A gasp left her lips, Casper stood next to her red 1972 Ford pickup truck but it looked so much better than it did before. The color was very sleek and glittery in the sunlight, the white stripe bag went down it was much bolder and the exterior was more polished. She looked inside and there was nothing but flowers filling up the whole car also a birthday card.

Jodie gives Sadie to Sawyer and the small woman hopped off the porch, she runs towards Casper and when she gets to him, she engulfs him in a big hug, squeezing him and she began to cry. "Thank you so much." She kept repeating to him, she was crying because she thought it would be impossible to fix it up and it was also the only thing that she had from her Grandpa. Casper was so overwhelmed with emotions because his arms were wrapped around her and the way she hugged him.

"Happy Birthday Jodie." He smiles and he looked into her eyes, he saw something in them that he never saw before. Lust, joy, and sadness all at the same time. "I-I could kiss you but..." She began to laugh and Casper chuckled. "How about on the cheek?" He questioned her and Jodie cheeks suddenly become warm, she leaned forward and kisses his cheek. "Momma and Casper are in loveee!" The twins chanted out loud and the two adults look at them with amusement, Casper outs Jodie down and he held his arms towards the kids, they came running towards them and engulfed the three in hugs. "How are you guys?"

Lana looked at Casper and she smiled. "Good, we get to go see our Grandma." She says and Sawyer nodded as he held Sadie. Jodie grabbed Sadie from her. "Yeah, we were leaving early in the morning and we're gonna spend the weekend there." Jodie says and Casper was happy for them. "Colin going?"

"No, he has to work and even if he did. . My Grandma doesn't like him." Jodie said with a small grimace and Casper scoffed playfully. "I already like your Grandma even though I haven't met her." Jodie shook her head she puts a strand of hair behind her ear. "Unless.. you want to tag along." Jodie stated and Casper looked at her then he felt a small hand grab his hand, it was Lana. "Please come, you'll have so much fun with us." She pleaded and Sawyer looked at him, giving him a pleading look.

Casper ruffled Sawyer's hair and he smiled. "Of course, I'll come." He answered and the twins hug him, he hugs them back as he caresses their hair and Jodie stares at them with a smile on her face, she hasn't stopped smiling the whole day and she wants to stay that way.

Jodie suddenly thought about the cake in the oven. "Oh shit, the cake!" She says and she carefully runs in the house with Sadie who was laughing because she liked how Jodie ran with her, Jodie took the cake out of the oven and she frowned at the black cake that was supposed to be brown color on the outside. "Aw man." She huffed and Casper came in with the twins. "Awww." The twins moaned as they look at the Cake and Jodie sighed. "I guess there's no cake today." Casper grabbed her hand then he kissed her palm. "Or there is." He says and Jodie's eyes went wide, Casper smiles goofily. "I brought you cake and ice cream, I ordered in a week in advance because it took a while for them to design your cake so—" Jodie hugs him and he wrapped his arms around her. "You're the best." Jodie tells him and Casoer
