It's the day of the ball! I'm all dressed up, and so is Elizabeth. We look smoking hot.
This is exactly the kind of distraction I need from the chaos at work. I've been drowning in deadlines, and now my boss has decided to add to my stress by making me pack up my things and move up one floor. Goodbye to impromptu coffee breaks with Eva, Josh, and Devin. Ugh, adulthood.
I hear a knock at the door and rush over, barely containing my excitement. When I swing it open, Eva is standing there, looking like she just stepped out of a fashion magazine. She's rocking an off-the-shoulder black top paired with a long white skirt covered in the most elegant floral patterns. A delicate necklace glitters at her throat, adding just the right touch of glam.
"Oh my god! You are on fire!" Eva exclaims, her eyes widening as she takes in my outfit. I do a little spin, letting the silky fabric of my dress flow around me, feeling like a movie star about to walk the red carpet.
The dress is a deep, sultry red that hugs my curves in all the right places, with a daring thigh-high slit that practically demands attention. The bodice is perfectly fitted, with a sweetheart neckline that's just risqué enough to turn heads but still classy enough to keep people guessing. The rich color contrasts beautifully with the golden mask I'm wearing—an intricate design of delicate filigree that frames my eyes and adds a mysterious, almost dangerous vibe to the whole look.
"That dress is gorgeous," I compliment back, giving her a playful wink as she strikes a pose.
"Thank you, thank you," she says, basking in the attention. I step aside to let her in.
"Mask?" I ask, and she lifts her hand to reveal one of those sophisticated masks on a stick. "Cute," I nod approvingly, and she beams.
"I love your gold mask. It's really your color," she says, giving me a once-over. I respond with an exaggerated curtsey, fully leaning into the moment.
"Where's Josh and Devin?" I ask, glancing behind her.
"Josh planned on coming with the boys in about ten minutes to pick us up," she explains. I nearly forgot that Elizabeth is going with Brian tonight. Speaking of Elizabeth...
