Tyler woke up with sweat lathered along his skin. His heart felt like it had been yanked out of his chest and thrown out the window of a 60 story building. He felt pain, an ache he could no longer bear. But he couldn't think of where it came from.

He was quick to get out of bed and take a quick shower. His body that was once tense began to calm and he felt safe. Unnaturally. He was walking through the house, one of Josh's big shirts wrapped on his body as he faced a mirror.

There was no ring, there was no ache in his heart. Just fear, he feared what Josh would say to him. He felt ready but not yet prepared. He was confused dazed, Josh wouldn't be home til late afternoon, and it was late morning. He had about six hours left.

"I love you, Josh." tyler said. His shoulders slouched, it felt unreal. "Josh, I am in love with you." He shook his head it wasn't good enough. "Joshua William Dun, I am deeply infatuated with you." Still nothing. He wanted the first time he said this to be special.

Three months, it has been three months since they have been together and neither of them had said the three words. Tyler wanted it to be special, he wanted to kiss Joshua and lay at night under stars and when there was a long silence he would say 'I love you'. And Josh would say it too, but at the same time.

They would look at each other and keep saying it until their breaths were used to connect their lips together and soon be stripped of their clothes and slowly loving each other all the way. Slowly and passionately.

And in the end he was wrapped in a blanket under stars and wake with sunlight beating their skin, and the first words they would speak as they looked into each others eyes would be, I love you. But Tyler could only imagine.

The door was being pried open and Josh was coming into the house. He's home from work early? Tyler looked away from the mirror, making his way down to the living room and looking at Josh whose forehead was matted with sweat and eyes blown wide.

Josh was quick going over to Tyler and picking him up, wrapping his arms around him in a hug. Tyler was so lost, josh's breath was shaky, he was scared. "Josh it's alright, I'm right here. Come on, let me take care of you," Tyler whispered in his ear.

Josh obeyed, allowing the small boys feet to touch the floor and grab onto his hands, pulling him up the staircase and to Josh's room. He sat the man on the edge of the bed and began to rid him of his clothes. First his clad shoes, then his pants and unformed shirt.

He removed his belt that consisted of armor. Tyler removed all the stress of the work day into the hamper and began to massage Josh's shoulders.

He wanted him to relax, but Josh was so tense. Murmuring to himself every now and then. Soon after a while of silence, he made the older man lay down under the comforter. Tyler didn't want to leave him, cuddling into his side.

After a while of laying down, and the sun disappearing, Tyler heard the beautiful voice. "It could have been me. I went against command, and my life had almost been wiped away." He spoke softly. Tyler was listening, and moved his hand on his chest to tell him he was listening.

"There was a robbery, but the man who was robbing the place was scared shitless. Told him, I could help him, that we don't have to use weapons. I went into the store, I stepped up to him and pulled my gun out, setting it on the floor."

"Tyler he didn't believe me, he threatened me, the gun was on my chest. He cocked the gun, he was gonna pull the trigger. Tyler I just never felt so scared. I was so scared. But someone shot him from outside from outside."

"I was saved."

Tyler gave him a kiss to his cheek. His cheeks were wet with tears, he could've died today. Tyler would've not been able to tell him what he wanted. "I am so so sorry, Joshua."

"Tyler, you don't have to be."

There was silence between the two of them. Breathing softly in the dark room. Tyler took in a breath. Why was he scared? He shouldn't be. "I love you."

Josh turned his head to look down at Tyler. He smiled at him, "I have been waiting for you to say that for so long." they both laughed. "I love you too."
