*Graduation Day*
Chanel Rhodes| Nelle
It's the day of graduation and I'm happy but I'm low-key also a bit sad. Believe it or not, I'm gonna miss West Grove. I mean, the 4 years I've been going to this school I couldn't wait for graduation but now that it's here I'm kind of scared. Graduating means it's time for me to grow up and face the real world.
I'm currently in the process of doing my make-up and fixing my hair.
While my face is baking I'm flat ironing my hair.
As I did my few strands my mom walked into my room and sat on my bed. She didn't say anything she just looked at me through the mirror as I finished doing my make-up.
When I saw that she wasn't going to say anything I spoke.
"Hey ma"
"Hey baby" She responded with a small smile.
"You ok?" I asked looking at her through the mirror.
"I'm fine baby, I'm just having a hard time believing that my little girl has grown up so fast. Seems like just yesterday you were wearing diapers and running around with a binkie on a chain" She said causing me to smile.
I actually still have that binkie on a chain in a box at the back of my closet.
"I can't even begin to explain how proud your father and I are of you. I know we weren't around as often as we should have been but you still turned out to be an outstanding young woman." She said as a tear rolled down her cheek but she was still smiling.
"Stop Ma you're gonna make me ruin my makeup," I said fanning away my tears.
"Ok ok. I just wanted to let you know how proud of you we are. I know we don't tell you often enough but we're very proud of the young lady you've become" She said as she got up and kissed my forehead causing me to smile once again.
She walked out of my room and left me alone to get dressed.
I threw on a white lace dress and a pair of heels to match before giving putting a pair of studs in my ear and a simple bracelet on my wrist.
When I was finished getting dressed I gave myself a once over in the mirror before grabbing my clutch off the bed along with my phone and the bag that held my cap and gown.
When I was sure I got everything I left my room and made my way downstairs to see my parents in the living room.
My mother was in the process of tying my father's tie.
"Are you guys ready?"
My mother responded with a nod of her head and my father gave me a once over before he spoke.
"Where's the rest of your clothes?" He asked using his hands to motion towards my dress
"I have on clothes now let's go before we're late"
