Chapter 7: Picnic at the Park ♥

Ella's POV

Yesterday was amazing! I admit I haven't sang in front of class in so long and it felt good to sing again. Most people say that I have an amazing voice, Some say that I should be a singer someday.

It is my dream to be a singer someday. Hopefully I can, If given the chance.

Right now we're in Music class patiently waiting for Mr.Grier to announce our scores.

"Good Afternoon class, here are your scores." Mr Grier said. Since me and Luke were the last ones to perform our score will be the last one to be known.

"Calum and Micheal you both got an A." I heard Mr. Grier said to Michael and Calum.

After he announced the scores of my other classmates, it's finally our turn with Luke. "Ella and Luke, You both got an A+, Congratulations, you both got the highest scores. You both have beautiful voices, Keep it up!" Mr. Grier told me and Luke.

I faced Luke and he was facing me too, I mouthed "Congratulations to us." to him and he smiled and mouthed back "Congratulations." I smiled.

As Mr. Grier started discussing about who knows what, I don't feel like listening I don't even know why.

I wonder what Luke's Mom looks like, I want to meet her someday. I wish Luke would let me meet her someday.

I was too caught up in thinking that I didn't notice class was finished. I saw Luke came up to me. I smiled as he walked going to my place.

"Congratulations to us Ella!" Luke said proudly.

"Congratulations to us indeed." I smiled.

"Since we had the highest score, wanna hang out? My treat." Luke said and smiled with his deep dimples. My heart skipped a beat. Oh god his smile.

"Sure. I'd love to!" I said enthustically. "But let me ask permission first." I told Luke an he laughed.

E: Mom, Me and Luke got the highest score! He wants to hangout, Is it fine with you?

M: Congratulations to you and Luke! Sure go with him. Be safe okay?

E: Thanks Mom :) Yeah, We'll be safe.

"Luke, Mom said it was fine. Let's go?" I told Luke.

"Let's go."

We rode a taxi going to the park. I know where's the way going to the park that's why.

"What are we gonna do here Luke?" I asked Luke.

"We're gonna have a picnic." He said as he grinned.

"Where's the food?" I asked in curiosity. I didn't see him bring a picnic basket.

"Here it is." He said as he pulled out a picnic basket.

"I didn't see that." I said confused.

"A magician never reaveals his secret." He said and laughed.

"Since when were you a magician?" I asked him and chuckled.

"Today." He said and smiled cheekily.

I sticked my tounge out in response and he grinned.

"Oh god you're such a dork." I laughed.

"I know hahaha." He said.

Luke already prepaired our food. I wanted to help but he said that he'll do it all alone, So I listened to him and sat at our little blanket.

"Eat away!" Luke said.

"Nom nom. Look at the delicious food!" I said.

"Thanks Luke! You're the best!" I said and hugged him, He too hugged back.

While we were eating, I looked around the park. There are only a few people left though, Since it's already past 5. My eyes roamed around and saw a playground! I love playgrounds!

When I was little, We used to go there with my family. That was before Dad died though, Those were the days, The happy days we had as a family, How I wish I could turn back time. But we can't. Past is past and we couldn't go back, We just keep on moving forward.

"Ella? Ella?" Luke said and startled me.

"What? I-uh." I said.

"You zoned out for like 5 minutes." Luke said and laughed.

"I did?" I said and He nodded. "I was just thinking of something." I said.

"Like what?" He asked, I knew he was curious because of the look on his face.

"My Dad." I simply said.

"Oh." That's all he said. He already knows about what happened to my Dad.

"But it's okay." I said and smiled to lighten up the surrounding.'cause it felt a little gloomy.

"Why don't we go to the playground?" Luke said.

"You like playgrounds too?" I asked all giddy.

"Yes. I love playgrounds! Specially the swings." He said and smiled.

"You like swings too?" I asked.

He nodded and we high-fived. We both chuckled.

"Let's Goooo!" I said and Luke laughed because of my excitement.

"Race 'ya to the swings." Luke challenged me.

And with that he ran off. Cheater. I ran too and I arrived first.

"I won!" I said. and sticked my tounge out.

"I came here first." He said and crossed his arms.

After a few minutes of debating like little kids, We both settled that we got a tie. Even though I came here first.

Then we had a swinging competion and this time he won. To be honest I let him win. Just kidding haha.

"Let's go now Ella." Luke said

"Okay. Anyways it's getting dark already." I told him

"Yeah." He said and went to our place where we ate.

"Thanks for today Luke. I had fun." I told him as we were heading to my house.

"Thank you too for today. I enjoyed being with you." He answered me back.

"Bye Luke." I said to him

"Bye Ella! See you at school." He said and winked.

I just smiled and went inside our house.

Being with Luke these days have been great. I now feel comfortable when I'm with him. Unlike before. Whenever I'm with him I feel secured and safe.
