Chapter 9

Sera's POV

Here I am sa school at a Saturday morning. I don't really know kung bakit ako na dito I just found myself waking up and looking forward to see the school grounds.

I'm sitting here sa ilalim ng puno, lotus position, at nakatingin langbsa kawalan. I gaze sa canteen at naalala yung first time niyakap ako ni Chase. Also, I looked intently na din sa hallway kung saan kami unang nagka-usap. Ang aga pa pala para mag reminisce ng mga nangyari, hahaha.

Speaking of that guy, I was kind of mad at him yesternight. Kasi I told him yung naiisip ko kung paano magkakakilala si Mari at Zac. I told him na magkakabunggo sila sa library tapos they'd pick up Mari's book then magkakatitigan sila. 

What was Chase's reaction. YUCK daw! Cliche daw masyado tsaka base sa character ni Zac, di naman daw sya yung tipo na pupunta sa library at makikipagtitigan sa isang stranger like he was shot by cupid or something. He also said na masyado daw cliche. 

I didn't said anything and ended the call. Nag-uusap lang kasi kami sa phone. He texted me that he was sorry and would try to think of a way kung paano nga magkakakilala sina Mari at Zac na umaayon sa character nila. I smiled at his text kasi concern sya sa magiging story ko. I replied a smiley face and closed my eyes to sleep.

I got up at nag decide na umalis na. Pero as I was walking, namalayan ko na lang na sa ibang direksyon papunta yung mga paa ko. It seems like they have a mind of their own at mas pinioing lumibot pa sa school. Nasa may part na ako ng school na hindi familiar sakin. Although may mga classrooms pa, mapapansin na luma na ito.

I heard na na may nag strum ng guitar.

Where I first saw you

Gonna camp sleeping bags

I'm not gonna move

Familiar yung voice na yun sakin. Lalaki ang kumakanta. I decided to hide sa likod ng puno nung nakita ko sya. It's Chase! I took a peek but ended up staring at him while he plays the guitar. Hanggang ngayon di pa rin ako sanay sa new look ni Chase kaya whenever I see him, I feel like I was in a different world were he's Zac and I'm Mari.

He looks so sad, so depressed, so--

"Its rude to stare" I was caught off guard and fell. Nabitawana ko kasi yung puno kaya nahulog ako

"Uhm sorry"

"Tss" I get it now. He's in his Zac mode.

"Please continue playing" I said habang nakatungo, I don't know kung saan ko nakuha yung lakas ng loob ko para sabihin yun sa kanya pero I badly wanna hear his voice.

He continued strumming and playing the guitar. He also continued singing. Ang ganda talaga ng boses nya, cold pero alam kung damang dama nya yung kanta. The whole time he's singing I was singing along pero yung walang boses at lips lang yung gumagalaw. 

He finished the sing with a slow strum at sinandal nya yung guitar nya sa puno.

"A fan of Maroon 5, eyy?" He asked na nakatingin lang ng diretso

"Di naman, pero I know some of their songs" I told him, remembering that I'm Mari for now and not the band-addict Serefina.

"I see"

Silence surrounded us at evident dun ang awkwardness. I don't really know what to say kasi kahit ako nangangapa pa sa personality nya as Zac.

"Watch my guitar for me, bibili lang ako ng tubig" he walked away kahit na di pa ako nakakasagot. Pumunta sya sa likod and ginamit yung gate. Wait, may gate dito?! Hindi naman sya yung gate na pang entrance talaga, it seems like a secret gate kasi at first sight di mo to mapapansin.

I looked at his guitar and hold it. I know how to play the guitar pero its been a long time na din since I played it. I put the guitar back pero may nakita akong pirma with the caption I <3 U.I also saw a notebook beside it, kinuha ko sya at binuklat. There were poems written, meron pa ngang haiku which really confuses me. I read 10 of the poems and all of them pertains to a guy waiting for her girl.

Sinulat ba to ni Chase? I was sad thinking na may pinagdadaanan syang ganyan. I continue reading at ninanamnam ang bawat word.

I was caught off sa nabasa ko sa pinaka end na page nung notebook nya. It says: Waiting for her, patiently and endlessly. Never gonna give up, never gonna back down. Where are you my angel? 

"Who gave you the permission to read my notebook" sabi nya, nakabalik na pala sya

"I'm sorry"

"Don't you dare tell anyone about this, everything that you saw"

"I won't" sabi ko habang nakatungo, I feel kind of embarrassed na binasa ko yun ng di nya alam, I remembered my story and took a deep breath. "On one condition" I told him

"What?" he asked me coldly, I can sense that he's still infuriated dahil sa ginawa ko

"Be friends with me Zac"

What do you think of the new update. Sorry dahil late yung UD kasi tinopak yung author XD. Who wants Zac's POV? I mean Chase, kahit kasi ako nalilito na eh XD.
