after Augustus

chapter 10

Ahola!!!!!!! ITS SUMMA TIME AND EXAMS ARE OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HALUHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! okay? okay. AHHHHHHHHH AHHHH (sits here violently sobbing) did you guys go see TFIOS movie?? IT WAS AMAZIN!!! i have already seen it twice, I'm such a fan gurl!!!!!!! i cried so much the second time i got dehydrated and got really sick that night :/  okay, so during the summer i will be updating After Augustus and my new book A Deep Dive Under at least once a week. except for the weeks I'm at camp. Okay? i will shut up now. Okay. WAIT!! comment your fav scene of the movie!!!

So i read him the eulogy i never read during the funeral, because i decided that funerals were for the living. not the dead. he stared at me in awe when i was finished. he had no words, nether did i. i started crying a bit. Grayson came over and i put my head on his shoulder. maybe life has new beginnings. i would like to think i could love someone again, but my heart can't quite catch up with my head. maybe i should let him in to my life. obviously i am falling for him the same way i fell for Augustus. Augustus Waters. The love of my life.

"Ok, thank you Hazel. Are you free on Friday?" Peter said

I really have lost track of time. oh my god, what day is it? more importantly, what month is it?

"Oh, yeah sure! Grayson do you want to go find somewhere to have lunch? im starving!"

"Definitely, do you want me to carry your... uh, thing?"

he meant my oxygen tank. 

"Phillip? i got it."

He chuckled and said "Phillip? is that its name?"

"Are you making fun of him?"

"No of course not. i mean how could i do that? i think it is presumably, adorable."

i blushed quite a bit as he rapped his arm around my waist as we exited the library. We got in the car and drove to a little coffee shop type place. I ordered a salad and he ordered a soup. we made small talk for awhile until something caught my eye on a bookshelf. An Imperial Affliction. While Grayson was talking about his soccer career, i was too distracted by the book. he kept on seeing me look over at it and finally said

"Are you ok?"

"Oh, Yeah. Its just this book..."

"An Imperial Affliction?"

"Yeah! That's it over there!"

"Oh my gosh i have read that book so many times! Its incredible!"

"I know! I read it a million times!"

"Wait. Ok this makes sense! Augustus told me about it and he told me his Girlfriend read it!"

Girlfriend? ouch. that hurt my heart. He says it like i don't even remember it. More like 'Long lost Dead Boyfriend' 

"Yeah, im sure he did. What did you think about it? Im sure it was different since i have cancer and you don't. Different perspective."

"Yeha i thought it was interesting and gave me a lot of feel for the cancer perks."

"Yeah it did for me too." 

Then we started laughing together. we both finished our food, payed our check, and left. In the car we were quite and i started having a hard time breathing. it wasn't terrible, i probably just need to refill my oxygen. we parked in my drive way and he ran around and opened the door for me. we hugged goodbye and i started walking towards the front door.  he got back in the drivers seat of the car and watched me walk in. about half way to the door i felt dizzy. i started coughing then i couldn't breathe. i tripped over a tree root. Then everything went black.

The last thing i remember is Grayson screaming "Hazel!" and running towards me.
