The crowds. They were massive. Bright camera flashes were everywhere. Eve was looking out the window, trying extremely hardly to control her breathing. Tom was trying to comfort her. They both knew why she was so nervous. This was their first 100% official outing as a couple. This meant she'd probably be questioned, a lot. By everyone. If she messed up, slipped up ever so slightly, shit could hit the fan.
"Babe, look at me", she was dragged out of her thoughts by Toms comforting voice, "it's all going to be okay. You look so fucking beautiful tonight". Eve smiled and blushed, trying to hold back tears. She leant over and kissed him, completely forgetting the fact she was wearing bright red lipstick. After they pulled away, Eve bravely opened the door.
The white flashes were blinding. She stepped out of the car and waved, almost like an old movie star at a movie premiere. Tom was quick to follow her. People were calling out their names. As they began to walk towards the hotels doors, Eve noticed people staring at Tom in a weird way, she turned to him and saw red lipstick marks around his lips. This caused her to laugh, which also caused Tom to look at him in confusion. Things began to feel, natural. The anxiety had slowly washed away.
She reached up and wiped the red lipstick marks away from his face, him laughing as he realised what was happening. They then continued to walk towards the doorway, arms linked, people calling out their names as they did so. A weird sensation began to come over Eve, she was starting to enjoy it. Everything was going okay.
Then she saw something that caught her eye, people in the crowd. She could've sworn she saw Zoe's face, before it disappeared. They couldn't be here, right? Would they do something big without her? Eve strongly doubted it, but made the decision to keep her wits about her.
Then she saw him. He was standing on the stairs by the door. Jude Normile. He wasn't only Toms nemesis. The only reason he was, was because of her. They had an extremely complicated past, Eve and Jude did.
He was her ex boyfriend.
She dumped him for Tom. It broke his heart, for a long time. She messed with his head. A lot. They hurt each other, a lot. It was all one big complicated mess. They were just kids at the time, but they both knew the hard feelings were still running strong.
More camera flashes snapped Eve out of her thoughts, it was time her and Tom actually went into the ball event thingy, whatever the fuck it was called.
