SHOUTOUT TO MY FRIENDS FOR BEING AWESOME, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!
Anyway, the story..
--------------------------------------
The ball, to put it simply, was breath-taking. Eve felt extremely out of place. The beauty and glamor and just, popularity of it all. It scared her, her secret constantly pulling away at her thoughts. She just stuck by Toms side, he made sure of it too.
Everything was going perfectly.
Too perfectly.
So much so, that Eve began to feel a slight sense of fear. Peoples conversation and laughter was too loud to her.
And that's when it happened. The lights went out, the room went dark. Gasps filled the room, even a few screams. Tom grabbed onto her wrist, they were standing back to back. When the lights flashed back on, things seemed to happen slowly. The doors had been thrown open, a cold wind was entering. They were here. Rev Radio, they were here without Eve. Then came the explosions, confetti was coming down upon the ballroom like a rainfall of green shades. There was a sudden prominent divide. On one side, the punks. The other, politicians. In the middle of this divide, stood the two people who linked them.
Tom was facing the politicians. The people helping him run, the opposing side. Every single one of them. Eve was facing the punks. Her 'team', her best friend. All the people who she'd lied to.
That was it. That's when the shit hit the fan.
Zoe saw Eve immediately, she recognised her even without the mask and wig. The look in her eyes showed a storm of emotions. Eve could see deep down that she was hurt, betrayed by her own 'sister'. Above this all, lay a thick layer of anger. She'd been betrayed, of course she feels this way. Zoe's voice suddenly cut through the silence.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH, YOU LIED TO ME!" she yelled, her voice echoing off the walls. Eve felt hurt by this. "I never lied to you", she managed to calmly reply.
"How?!" Zoe shot back, as annoyed as ever. That's when tears began to fill Eve's eyes. Tom had turned to face them both. Zoe's eyes darted from Tom to Eve. She continued, "Of all fucking people. Every single person in this godforsaken city, you're dating that politician prick. A fucking politician, the exact people we're against". There was so much hurt leaking through with every word she spoke. "He's a fucking cunt", she finished with. That's when Eve snapped too. "don't you dare call him that" she said, quietly at first.
"Speak up" Zoe spitefully snapped.
"I said, don't you fucking dare call him that!" Eve suddenly roared. Tom tried to grab her hand, but she forcefully pulled away and began to storm towards the group she once called her family. Anger and rage built inside her with every step, her heeled shoes echoing off the floor ringing in her ears."You can say what you want about me, call me a snake all you fucking like, disown me entirely I couldn't care less, but don't you drag my fucking boyfriend into anything", she'd now stopped and was standing almost face to face with her 'sister'.
Zoe's anger seemed to just disappear. "I thought we were sisters, no matter what" she mumbled, before turning and leaving through those grand double doors. The rest of Rev Radio followed her, some looking at Eve in anger or just, disappointment.
That was the moment her heart shattered.
