Have you ever wondered
How you would view yourself
If mirrors and reflections
Failed to exist?
What would you think about
Your legs if you didn't stare
At them through the glass windows?
What would you hate about
Your appearance if there wasn't a mirror
Hanging in your dining room?
What would you wish to change
About yourself if you can't see
The things you think are wrong with you?
What if the only thing
That existed was the reflection
Of your soul
When you speak
When you think
And when you live
We are all so self consumed
In this world where body image
Is everything, a world people
Are so afraid to be themselves
We become obsessed
New tips on how to change
Ourselves
In order to gain acceptance
From people who don't
Care about us
Be yourself
Love yourself
Love every inch of you and
Everyone around you
We are all so different
Yet we are so equal
Do we really want our
Children to follow in our steps
Of obsession with self image?
To forget what really matters?
To love and be loved.
