"IT'S THE PRINCESS," guards and townspeople yelled as the blue ponytail came into view. Gazelle kept walking until she came upon the kingdom close by that their kingdom had teamed up with. Two women in red capes and silky wool came towards her. "Princess where is your fathers?" Queen Annaline had asked her while Queen Vasiti gave her cool water to drink. A few squeaks escaped from Gazelle' s arms and she opened them to reveal the small brown spotted mouse. "Huh? Who is your friend?" Vasiti asked in admiration. "I don't know, he never really told me," that was her answer, then the mouse jumped to the ground and drew an L into the dirt. "L? Do you like that letter?" Gazelle asked her furry friend, the reply was a simply nod and the motion to keep going. "Larson? Looey? Logan?" Gazelle asked countless names, each getting a shake from the mouse head. Gazelle was about to give up, what other names have L at the beginning? "What about Lucha?" The mouse gave a fierce nod, a toothy grin was shown on his face. Gazelle felt so relieved, she finally found a name for her friend and an easy one at that. "Ok, Lucha. It's good to have a name, huh?" Lucha was happy about his new name, he quickly climbed back up to Gazelle' s arm and started to finish his apple. "Now, princess. What happened?" Annaline tried to continue, soon noticing Gazelle's discomfort. "Shall we speak in private?" Annaline was given a simple nod and led the blue haired girl to the castle. They walked through the halls in silence, Gazelle either looked at Lucha or her feet as they moved ahead. Vasiti worried for the child as she looked behind her and her wife. Queen Annaline was worried as well but didn't show it so immensely. Gazelle was led to a large painting of a lotus flower, she watched as Vasiti placed her necklace in the corner and Annaline do the same opposite of Vasiti, they turned the pieces to the left four times and then the right seven times. Gazelle heard a clink almost inaudible and then the ground shook a little before the painting opened like a door. "Come on in. No one will bother us in here," Annaline reassured the princess. Gazelle felt a cool breeze blow on her as she entered the room, a special kind of fragrance filled the air. Vasiti held Annaline's hand as the sat down on a couch close to a stain glass window, three times larger than the beautiful painting. This window had a rainbow surrounding a ring of people, all holding hands above their heads as if they were cheering for something. What does it mean?
"Princess Gazelle?" She was snapped out of her thoughts when Vasiti asked for her. Gazelle walked over and sat down in the chair across from them. "Yes, majesties. You wanted to ask me something," Gazelle asked in one of her formal voices, trying to be the best queen for her people. "Where are your fathers? When will the kings return?" These questions made her heart sink, how could she tell the kingdom that she didn't know where her fathers were. They could be kidnapped or even...Gazelle didn't want to think it would come to that conclusion. She looked the two queens in the eye and clenched her hands, "I do not know of their presence. My father, King Thomas, had asked of me to leave with the kingdom so they would have a ruler until they returned. King Tord had left for battle long before that in hopes to protect us, so far that is all I know." Tears were threatening to fall from Gazelle's eyes, she felt so hurt and guilty. She had left her fathers behind, and while they were fighting she sat on this chair talking to other royalty. Lucha squeaked and Gazelle looked into his eyes, there seemed to be some sort of understanding and comfort in them. Gazelle smiled and looked up to the queens, "if they do not return then the kingdom in your hands until I can truly lead them, is that alright?"
"It's what we had agreed upon, you are a very smart girl. Now we know why your fathers were so fond of you," Queen Annline said, hoping to cheer the young princess up. Vasiti nodded and hugged Gazelle, giving the young girl love and warmth. Gazelle's smile grew wider and she hugged both the queens, giving her gratitude. The queens and the princess spent that afternoon helping the townsfolk of both kingdoms get situated and properly in homes as well as medical help. Gazelle kept looking to the east, she kept looking for any sign of red and blue. Waiting for her fathers' return.
