Gazelle kept shuffling as fast as she could; tears stung her eyes as she tried to escape. She knew she was doing something right for her people, but she felt empty. She felt like a coward, a pathetic excuse for a queen. Gazelle was panting, just sitting in the darkness. What was she to do? She knew her fathers could take care of themselves, but she couldn't help but feel scared for them. What if something happened? Gazelle felt tears pricking her eyes and she stuffed her face in her arms and knees, the blue-haired girl felt as though she was shrinking. Ch-ch-ch! Gazelle's head shot up as she heard scruffling nearby, she tried to back into the darkness slowly. The noise kept getting louder and louder. Ch-cH-Ch! CH-ch-cH! Gazelle backed into a wall as the scrapings echoed off the walls, she felt trapped; her heart racing, the sound mixing with the noises. Thump-thump! ThumCH-Thump-cH-ch! The beating moved through her body, it felt like her heart was in her throat and she wheezed for air. Gazelle's neck started to ached and her back was shaking with the rest of her body, she was panicking. The noise got closer and closer, Gazelle closed her eyes waiting for impact... waiting and waiting.... and waiting.... and waiting.

Meep..? That sound, it was so familiar and so calming. Gazelle opened her bloodshot eyes and rubbed the tears away, her vision started to focus on a small brown and blonde haired mouse in front of her. They stared at each other, it felt like ages since one of them had blinked until the mouse did and crouched down into a bowing position; this little creature knew royalty, apparently even when it's in front of him. Gazelle smiled and tilted her head in a form of bowing, "Hello little friend. Can you help me get out of here?" The mouse nodded quickly as if he knew exactly what the princess wanted. They scurried through the tiny tunnels, which seemed to be getting longer and longer. Gazelle was sore, hungry and very worried for her fathers; multiple times she had wondered whether to go back or not. The mouse persistent, so did she and soon a bright light shone at the end of the blackness. Gazelle started to gasp with excitement and sped up, nearly knocking over the small mammal in front of her. They dashed out of the small hole and into an orchard, it was a gorgeous place with a variety of fruit trees and prickly grass that reached Gazelle's ankles. She jumped up again and again until she grasped onto a branch. The small creature watched her with wonder and curiosity, then a few gleaming red dots fell to his sides. They smelled amazing and so juicy too, Gazelle jumped back down and picked some up. She quickly chomped into one and fell down with a satisfying sigh, the mouse dug into one himself, licking the sweet juice off his lips. Gazelle felt like she could be there forever until a sound of a trumpet went off from a nearby area. "That must be our cue," she said before running towards it, with her furry knight on her tail.
