I stretched my arms up. It's funny how tired can one be after sitting for hours.
I made my way towards where I could get my luggages back. I really needed to see my babies ! Ugh, I mean, my skates !
Luckily for me, the suitcase in which my skates were was easily recognizable. I mean, hot pink suitcases with the words "careful, precious shoes with blades attached worth thousands " written on them don't grow on trees, right ?
After I gathered my stuff, I searched for my coach. He was really tall so it was easy to spot him a crowd.
My coach was a retired skater — national Canadian champion — named Triyan Horcer and he trained a lot of skaters. He was always busy. Luckily, only two of his students were going to the Japanese competition because the others had been assigned to different events of qualification for the Grand Prix. So it was just me an good ol' Nancy... ugh this girl was getting on my nerves.
Nancy didn't travel with Triyan and I though. She had decided to come with her parents. Since I only considered the competition kind of minor - just another qualification event - I didn't bother inviting my family. It would help me to focus.
No distraction !
My phone buzzed in my pocket. I'd have to check that later. Maybe Yuri had answered me ?
I didn't want to get recognized, so I hid my face with my hood.
In Japan and in South Korea, figure skating is pretty popular. Some figure skaters are even as popular as idols. Lots of people stan my kind, of whatever. Fans are nice most of the time but some can be s c a r y.
Once upon a time, *cough*, my friend Yuri was legit attacked by the 'vice-president' of his South Korean fanclub. The poor girl kept screaming "OPPA" like a madman and even tried to cut a strand of his hair. Four security guards were needed in order to prevent the fierce teenage girl from harming Yuri. After this weird and traumatizing event, Yuri had to take part in some counseling. He is probably mentally scarred for life and triggered every time he hears the word "OPPA". But I think he's more ok now.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't watched where I was going and accidentally bumped into someone. The impact was so strong I was swept off my feet.
I realized I was on the ground with the cute guy I had bumped into.
He WaS oN tOp Of Me. Wait, let's not call him cute he just attacked me. Why is my life turning into a shojo manga ?Realizing what just happened, he quickly got off me and helped me up.
"Gomenasai, I didn't meant this to happen, daijobu desu ka ?" (Sorry,...are you alright)
"Why wouldn't I be..." I cynically replied. Wow, Yuri would be proud of my saltiness !
The guy had blond hair and looked only a bit older than me. He gave me a weird look. Where's my coach when I need him. The restroom isn't that far away, I told him not to eat weird airplane food... agh those eel crackers...
Great, now people were staring... Is that girl over there taking a picture of me ? Oh my lutz ! A little crowd were taking more shots of me.
"Follow me, hurry!" Said the blonde before taking my forearm and starting to run fast as hell. I had no choice but to follow him. Or else, I would've been crushed by fangirls running with the speed of wild beasts.
We sprinted in the crowded airport, which was a difficult thing to do while holding suitcases.
We stopped at a dark corner, far away from our previous emplacement. I was breathless from the run we had just done.I looked up at my almost kidnapper. I asked him a bunch of questions. I was very annoyed, I mean, he was cute, but that doesn't make it all okay !
"Why were they chasing after you?"
"Was it really necessary to run like that?"
"What is your name?"
Before letting me time to ask another question, he cut me off.
"You don't know who I am?!"
