"DINNER IS WAITING!" I heard Skip yelling from the patio, making us all walk outside to the lovely smell of cooking.
Luke walked down with me, asking me if I had a good weekend.
He reached the bottom of the stairs first and turned and lifted me down the last couple of stairs by the waist.
It was the cutest thing ever.
I think I may have been smiling like an idiot for a while after.
A while being an understatement.
I felt a rush of something when he lifted me up, but I don't know what.
I guess his hands on my waist just made something special pass through me.
Skip had all the sausages and burgers ready when we went out, so I thanked him and tucked in.
I'm still wondering what this talk is going to be about...
Hopefully nothing too bad.
I take a bite into my cheese burger and find that it feels very weird when I bite it.
The cheese feels all plastic and I can't chew it.
I take the burger out of my mouth and open it up.
Wow.
How mature.
I find fake, plastic cheese in it.
Thanks Skip.
Great present.
"Well then..." I trail off.
"Oh," Skip says innocently.
I can definitely tell he's holding in laughter.
"Hilarious." I state sarcastically.
I'm acting madder than I am.
I'm not even mad.
I don't care.
It was quite a good joke, I'll give that to him.
I just like making him feel bad.
In a nice way I mean, I am not a terrible person.
"Sorry, it must have got muddled up, oops," he says. Again, with innocence.
"Don't give me that bullshit," I laugh. "Anyway, thanks for the burger, without cheese," I giggle.
"No problem, glad you like it." He smirks.
"Don't push it mate," I joke.
We all talk about random stuff and have a laugh. Skip is clearly enjoying himself so I'm happy about that.
I'm quite a slow eater so all the boys finish their food before me. They have all finished their second burger when I'm still on my first.
"Freya, you take ages to eat babe," Luke laughs.
"I know, it's annoying actually," I sigh.
"I think it's cute," Luke blushes.
"Aw Lukey," the boys mimic.
"Shut up you dicks." Luke fires.
"At least I have one," Jai jokes.
I giggle and Luke just flicks him off.
"Thank you so much Skip, this was lovely," I smile at him.
"No bother Freya," he grins back.
A light rain started so we all put everything away in a rush and decided to go inside to the living room.
"I'm gonna go to unpack my stuff," Skip stands up and announces.
"Do you want help? You made my dinner so I guess we'd be even?" I suggested.
I needed to know what he needed to tell me.
I couldn't wait.
"Aw thanks," he smiles.
"No Freya. You don't have to," Luke says defensively.
"Luke it's fine," I giggle. it's seriously so cute him being so defensive. I love it.
"Okay, be quick though," Luke smiles.
I nod and follow Skip up the stairs.
"So.." I trail off.
"Yeah... about 'the thing'..." He trails off also, putting quote marks around the 'the thing'.
I gesture for him to continue as he closes the door.
"It doesn't matter anymore." He smiles.
I'm not very good at reading people emotions, but I can tell that was a fake smile. And a lie.
"Skip it does, I want to help you," I urge.
"Are you honestly sure you want to hear this? It will make things awkward between us.."
"Well you've half told me, so yes, tell me it all." I say. I'm quite worried now.
"So.. I guess I think I may have some sort if feelings for you." He starts.
I am honestly stunned.
I never expected this.
But I guess it's all making sense now. All the times when me and Luke were getting close he was weird about it.
"It might be nothing, I wouldn't worry about it. I don't want this to change anything between us, or between you and Luke." He says, I totally respect him for that, what a gentleman.
"Thank you Skip. You've been completely honest with me so I'll be completely honest back. I love you as a friend, not in any other way. I want things to stay the same between us too, but yes, it may be a bit awkward to start with. I can definitely see me and Luke becoming something more than friends, and I wouldn't want that to hurt you in any way. I'm sorry Skip." I tell him.
"Don't be sorry, this is my fault. You and Luke are perfect together, my feelings are nothing. I will definitely get past them soon, but thank you for being so understanding Freya," he says shyly.
"Well, yeah, lets forget about this." I give him a hug and while we are hugging whisper to him, "And can we not tell Luke or the boys about this? I don't want to hurt them."
"Yeah, I wasn't planning to tell them," he says while releasing from the hug.
"I'm gonna go down stairs now," I told him, pointing at the door.
I awkwardly walk out backwards and wave to Skip as I leave.
That was an unexpected turn.
"Lucas I'm back!" I sing as I walk into the living room to hear the boys talking (having a heated conversation) about football.
"Freya! Is Skip still upstairs?" James asks.
"Yeah, I think he'll be down soon."
"Do you want a drink?" Jai asks.
"Um, just water please," I ask.
Jai goes to get me some water and I go with him.
"Why are you and Luke still not together?" Jai asks me pretty seriously.
"I'm not making the first move," I say quickly.
"He needs to fucking man up and make the move," Jai mutters, half to himself, half to me.
"Yeah, he does," I joke.
"No I'm being completely serious here, I honestly ship you so hard."
"I ship us too," I joke again.
"You are perfect together, anyone can see that." He says.
I know how true that is, but I can't get the thought of hurting Skip out of my mind.
"Anyway, lets just hope Luke grows some balls and makes a move," Jai says, "Come on, we should go make through."
Jai hands me my glass of water and I thank him while we go back to the others.
