The scene unfolded soon. Capulet and Montague reached the same destination but their paths remained separated. The night appeared to be much darker for an unknown reason. The moon goddess nowhere to be seen. The forest appeared to be haunting and the trees were sinful and hideous under the gaze. The emotion called Fear bubbled inside the chests and heart beated faster than the swishing wind and the emotion was soon replaced by terror.
Terror of the unknown.
Gloominess blanketed the sky and goosebumps were felt on the skin. Their steps never halted and fiegning confidence both the parties arrived at the secene.
The prince had ordered them to meet him at the clear ground inside the forest.
The area had once been the land where people rioted and bathed in blood. The story was unknown to people as it had never been passed down to anyone. No one survived to sang the struggle and sorrowful screams. The battle was long forgotten.
The incident was ancient but the ground still beheld the drops of blood, seeped through the grains and remains of the dead which was mounted by the bare soil that held itself intact after so many decades.
A magnificent stage for a tragedy to take place.
A change to be made.
A story to end and a new...beginning.
They spotted Prince Escalus standing above the ruins of an ancient history. He held a blank expression like an artist who was presenting his masterpiece.
A piece that was mastered again and again over the ages.
The art of death.
The rival families joined him bowing down and paying respects while maintaining distance between each other. Truth to be told, distance was just a number used as a tool and in much cases; as an excuse.
"What is the matter, his highness?" Romeo's father enquired receiving a none too kind glare from Juliet's father. He returned a cold glare.
"I had been witnessing the chaos you both rivals had been creating these past years." Prince Escalus said in a commanding voice. "I was intrigued by the young lovers whose dreams and unfortunately future too, has been crushed under your wrath." His hands danced along the air, cutting and moving through it while creating a masterpiece. "I, hereby, relieve you both. Proceed we shall, gentleman and maintain the silence if you may."
They bowed again while Prince Escalus showed them the way. Questions crawling out of their holes, fabricated with curiosity but fear and respect kept them prisoner. They stayed silent.
The stage was set and the artists ready in their costumes. The customes of poison and love mixed with drama. An act passed down from century to century.
Both the parents gasped at the scene. They turned furious, yet again. They began to move and disturb the scene being performed infront.
Prince Escalus held his sword pointing in their direction. "They are saying goodbye." He muttered.
This halted both the parents but not without an arguement.
They watched Romeo and Juliet standing infront of each other while hiding in the dark.
The moon had blessed the light upon the young lovers. It was lot easier to see both Romeo and Juliet now. Their eyes shone under the gaze of moon.
They waited and waited. It felt like forever but it has been only few minutes. Time was not a concept to love.
