ETERNAL LOVE (A Romeo-Juliet Spin Off)

Endlessly

"Nice move, mate." Benvolio commented Romeo.

They had been practising new tactics for sword-fighting. So far Romeo had been incredible. He smiled at Benvolio breathing hastily and sweating.

"Ready for the big day?" Paris, the kinsman asked Romeo.

Benvolio and Paris locked their gaze for a moment before retreating it.

A turn of page and we saw the story had completely altered into something else.

"As long as Juliet is by my side I am ready for everything." Romeo said beaming.

Everyone shook their head but smiled lightly.

"It worked." Juliet exclaimed watching the antidote working efficiently.

"Is he going to live?" The healer asked joined with few others. Juliet nodded smiling.

"You have magic, Juliet." The oldest healer blessed. Juliet had asked everyone to call her by her first name without any formalities in the infirmary. It had been a few years she had shown interest in medicines.

A relevation, indeed.

She had shown a keen interest in battle strategies too. Romeo always talk to her about frontiers and barriers settings and soon realised that Juliet had a great knowledge about science and physics.

Amazing how they found their individualities while exploring one another.

"Are you ready for the big day?" A friend of Juliet and co-worker asked.

"As long as Romeo is by my side I am ready for everything." Juliet said beaming.

Everyone in the room smiled and giggled.

The room was filled with noble families and men and women from Verona and towns around.

It was a special occassion.

"Are you ready Romeo and Juliet?" Prince Escalus whispered smirking.

Romeo and Juliet smiled at each other knowingly.

"The king is here." Prince Escalus heard his wife gushing. He looked straight and saw King Albert I being accompanied by royal guards.

"It's time Romeo." Prince Escalus informed Romeo who nodded and walked away from him towards the King.

The act of conferring knighthood began. Romeo kneeled infront of King Albert I. A shining sword was held by King reflecting under the light. Romeo held his breath.

This was it. He was going to become a knight. A warrior he has always dreamt of. A chivalrous man who will protect his people no matter what.

He moved his eyes and it landed on Juliet. She was smiling. He smiled back.

The sword soon touched his left shoulder while his knee-cap laid on the knight-stool. The sword moved and tapped his right shoulder afterwards.

He lifted himself above the ground and bowed his head in respect to the king. King Albert I placed a kiss on his left cheek.

The crowd roared and cheered. Romeo moved his gaze again. Juliet was still smiling happily.

He smiled back, again.

"Who was the man?" Romeo asked Juliet raising an eyebrow. Romeo came earlier after training tonight. The man left as soon as Romeo entered.
