Chapter 13

We arrived to the scene and My was the crash bad. There were 3 cars involved and two of them were totaled. Our fellow officers showed us where they took out the people from the cars but there was someone that was still inside one of the wrecked cars.

"I'll go with the firefighters and take out the person that stuck inside the car while you go check the other two people." I nod at Regina. I put my gloves on start to check the wounded man. He was just shaking like crazy. I started to check him and he had cuts everywhere.

He complained of not being able to move his legs. As I was checking them I see Regina running with someone on a gurney, that's when I noticed the person on the gurney had blonde hair. That's when Regina walks up to me. "Killian." I nod as I'm wrapping the person, getting him ready for transport.

"Killian." I nod again. "Killian look at me." I look up. "It's Emma." I nod again. "What about her?" She looks towards the ambulance. I gasp. "Emma was in the crash?" She nods. She kneels down. "I'll take care of this person, go." I was still in shock. My Emma was in the crash. I get up and Regina grabs my arm.

"Killian she's in a bad condition and unresponsive." I gasp. "I'll take the ambulance, you go with them." I nodded. I walked up to the ambulance and I see the other paramedics in there treating her. I got in and I see it was one of my colleagues, August. "Killian what are you doing here?" I sigh.

"The patient you're treating she's my...." He gasps. "Kim hit the gas and get to the hospital," he screams and I sit down. "I'm so sorry Killian." I nod. "She's not responding Killian." I nod. Everything that I was seeing seemed unreal to me.

"She broke both her legs, and suffered head trauma as well as major deep cuts along her body." He then checked her hands. "Her hands are all cut up as well." I shook my head. My heart was breaking, after not seeing her for so long this is the way I see her. I caressed her face and I wanted to cry but of course I couldn't.

That's when the portable heart monitor started to go flat. August got the AED machine to get her heart rate back up but it wasn't working. In one of the times that Emma was shocked from the machine something fell out of her pocket.

I picked it up and they were the official divorce papers signed by Emma and Neal. I gasp. She officially left him and this is what happens? That's when I look up and the ambulance stops. We finally made it to the hospital and The doctors from the hospital take Emma away.

I'm sitting in the ambulance as I see them taking Emma away. She finally had a chance to be happy again yet this happens? I don't know why but life seemed to be unfair to the both of us. If something happens to Emma, I'm going to die, I can't live without her.

Emma's POV (Before the crash)

I put my wallet back and that's when walks up to me. "I saw this in your things." I gave him a weird look and that's when I see he had the divorce papers. "You had signed it but I didn't." I sighed. "I was not going to ask you till after dinner." He nods. "That's what I thought, so it's best I just save you the trip to the store."

He takes out a pen and signs it. "It pains me to have to sign it but you deserve the world." I started to cry. "Don't make dinner go back to your home, go to nursing school or whatever you wanna do be happy." I smile. "Thank you Neal." He shakes his head. "No thank you because you forgave me." I smiled.

"How about you, are you going to be ok?" He nods. "I'm walking again, aren't I?" I nod. "I'll be fine, go." I nod. I picked up the paper and put it in my pocket. I grabbed a couple of my things and put it in the car. As soon as I get in the first thought that came into my mind was Killian. I know he's super pissed at me but I'm ready.

I'm ready to be with him for the rest of my days so that's why I will be the one asking him to marry me. I didn't know where Killian could be at so I thought it was best to see if he was the hospital where he usually stays at. I made my way towards the hospital and I stop at a red light. I'm so anxious to be with Killian that I can't even sit down.

I didn't care how long it takes me to get Killian back because I know he's not going to forgive me right away but all I know is that it's going to be worth it. The light turns green and I hit the gas. That's when I didn't notice two cars had ran a red light and crashed into my car.

For a moment there all I could hear was ringing. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't, I could feel shards of glass near them. I tried moving but couldn't. That's when I felt sharp pain along my whole body. I'm sure I broke several bones because the pain was unbearable. Does anyone know I'm stuck in here?

I don't know how much time passed but I didn't want to give up. I knew that if I stopped breathing or went to sleep I was going to die for sure. That's when I hear sirens. I sighed in relief knowing that if I am at least to die it wasn't going to be in my car. I feel someone tugging at the car which made me scream from the pain.

That's when I felt an arm touch me. I'm going to get help, I'm going to survive. But that's when I felt really weak. I don't know if I'll be able to get through this but if I do die I can die in peace knowing I was on my way to get back with Killian.

They pulled me out of the car and I slightly opened my eyes, and all I could see was the light but was it the light of day, or was it the light guiding me to heaven?
