Chapter 12

Minerva, realizing that the student had fallen asleep as every owl did, finally steps out of the shadow and transform back to her normal form. Her presence alerted the owls despite Minerva was shifting in the quietest she can be, and some had flown away because of her authorized presence while some stayed with their wings expended as an act to make themselves looks larger for a predator, willingly putting themselves in danger to keep their friend, Y/N, safe.

She cast "Lumos." and gestured the birds to make way for her, and when the brave owls understood that she meant to harm, they did so without much of a choices. Minerva made a beeline to the sleeping Hufflepuff, careful in each step so she wouldn't wake her. Minerva found herself amuse by the fact that even in a place like this, the girl manages to be comfortable anyway.

She was dreading when she followed Y/N. She was in the library at the time, searching for a specific book, but wasn't truly aware that the Hufflepuff was there at the time. Only did she felt the girl's presence when Minerva's link starts acting up, aching in her chest. This alerts her about the Hearth's distress.

Transforming herself into her tabby form, Minerva used her senses as she searches for her the student and the voices, which belong to Mister Colt and Miss Granger, belting Y/N's name did she find her target. Minerva felt the negativity chaotically filling the girl's mind.

Minerva followed the running girl, and since it's intended for her to lose the girl in the crowd, still Minerva knew that Y/N would be heading to the West Tower. It had been the girl's favorite place, and a space where she was willingly letting her voice filled the silent.

"Oh dear..." sighed Minerva as she kneels down, her hand brushing away Y/N's hair so soft and light weighted. Though Minerva's hand flinches away then when the girl's hair changes color and she gasps as it fully turn pink. Had her eyes deceived her? 'So... it is possible, I knew it!'

Quickly, though carefully not to wake the Hufflepuff, Minerva had, with a gentle swift, carried Y/N in a bridal way. Minerva had decided that it would be better to Apparate them back to her quarters for safe keeping, not wanting anyone to see them.

Minerva was oblivious, of course, not knowing another Gryffindor had already had.

A room dyed by the candle lights, with walls covered by shelves and shelves filled with books. Her study table filled with parchment and quill, paper works waiting to be done, though it was still neat and cleans because of the elf, Rommie visiting her quarter whenever she is free to do so. Rommie is now working on Hogwarts –he originally comes from the McGonagall Manor –but still is under Minerva's command. She was thankful for the elf thoughtfulness since Minerva was a busy woman after all and her work had consumed her free time to do any cleaning chores.

Minerva had let Y/N's sleeping form settle into the couch close to the fireplace. She fetches a pillow and an extra blanket, hoping they would make the girl comfortable enough for long slumber.

Minerva should take her leave now, her absence will be known if dinner occurred without her. But still, she was compelled to watch the sleeping one, thoughts crumbling back to the past. 'Oh, she look much likes her...' zoned Minerva as her mind replayed the old days.

She waits in her Professor's room, waiting and watching, curiosity on mind as Minerva's eyes look upon the wings behind the one sleeping fondly on the bed. It's been days, soon to be week, after this fallen one had arrived and yet nothing more had happened. She hasn't waked still and Minerva was starting to think that the girl might be dead in some ways but had thought of otherwise since watching that chest heave.
