Chapter 11 - The Start

Chapter 11

"Okay, this is getting ridiculous!" belted the blond boy in the hall, his state was fuming and his walking with anger, and tailing him was Y/N.

"Nathan, you can't just confront Katie and accuse her!" argued Y/N as she tried to get a hold of her friend.

"But she's the only one who could be doing this, Y/N! Ever since I told her that I couldn't return her feelings, things like that starts happening to you!" countered Nathan, having enough of the jinxed and hexes being thrown to his friend.

After the broom incident, more and more jinx starts popping out and Y/N would always seem to be a target. After the broom, one of Y/N's books had been cast a Biting jinx –which Y/N survived without being bit for Hermione was there to rescue –then, she got assaulted by a Oppugno Jinx at some time of the day and then, just last night, Y/N was trapped in an Ebublio Jinx when Y/N was in the library and with that was a Silencio spell that stops Y/N from alerting people. She was found crying there after curfew when one of the Prefects, which were Gabriel Truman himself, was taking rounds.

That was the last straw.

After receiving the truth, since Y/N tried to hide some of the other things that happened to her from Nathan, the blond boy was furious and almost roared when the Head of the Gryffindor house brought the news. It was lunch time then and they were stalling the halls but Y/N trying her best to try and stop him from bursting through the Great Hall double-door and avenge Y/N, as he quoted.

"But you can't simply come in there, Nathan, and throw curses at someone who could be possibly isn't the one doing this! You have to calm down or what you're about to do will lead you expelled!" begged Y/N, refusing to let the boy go. The boy still tries to walk pass her but hearing the cries of "Please." stops him. Y/N was crying.

"Y-Y/N, h-hey, no, no, alright, I won't go in there." Nathan quickly slung his arms around his friend and held her close, regret suddenly flooding his senses. "I promise that –n-no, don't cry."

"I can't lose you Nate..." sobs Y/N, clenching her hand into the boy's cloth in fear he'd leave. "I don't want you away."

"Okay, okay, I won't do anything. I just, I'm sorry I was just overreacting." rambles Nathan, rubbing Y/N's back while they received looks from student passing by. "Please don't cry, shh; it's okay."

Y/N had been dreading each morning, she acts as if these events aren't getting into her but they do. She had approach Professor McGonagall about this matter and of course, the woman promised to find the culprit. She knows the woman is trying, that her Professor cares, but it hadn't done anything much. The culprit seems to know what they're doing and had perfect every time they've done it.

Y/N composed herself, still hiccupping but had wiped her tears dry. Nathan volunteers to wipe it for her, still shushing her sobs. Finally, the girl's walls broke down and had shown her vulnerability, her pretence about being strong –she is strong mind you, Nathan know that –had fallen and the little –well littler –Y/N had surfaced.

"Eet's okay, mon ange, let eet out." Nathan murmurs softly, his accent drifting back to his native tongue, this comforts the girl. Y/N nodded but had refrain from crying any further, her eyes were a little red but wasn't visible much. With both of his hand still hold Y/N's cheeks, Nathan kissed Y/N's forehead to comfort her more.

"Y/N?" a voice called out from behind and when Y/N glances over her shoulder, it was Ginny she saw. Her face quickly light up, to see the redhead again after a few days of absence. Ginny seem to be occupied always; her time always needed somewhere as she would always say when Y/N confront her.
