Chapter 14
To fall in love was something new and to do so for the first time was scary. Y/N had realized this just after supper, where she had done nothing but stared at her. The world had truly shifted. At first, she thought it was the too-sweeten cookie Tiff had given her, again asking for opinion about her baking skill, but as Y/N world only focused on the Gryffindor, the realization hits her.
Her food was forgotten and no one seems to have noticed the fact that Y/N was dazed, drunk in the chemical that her brain was producing –but really, Y/N was too occupied to hear Ella calling out for her. Anya also tried waving her hand in front of the girl's face but she got no respond than Y/N standing up and heading away.
Y/N didn't know if she should be happy or be frightened, all is knew but somewhat, familiar to her. She then gathered some Gryffindor courage, the voice in her mind debating whenever if she should or not, but finally, she asked Katie Bell for privacy.
Y/N was struck more to see the girl smiling in agreement.
They simply talk when they got of the Great Hall. Y/N made put her communication skill to the test, and found things to be in-common with the older girl as they simply stroll to the halls, too invaded to their world. In the end of their pleasant conversation though, Katie asked Y/N, while playing with her hands in a shy manner, "Tomorrow, since it'll be Sunday and I'm not busy with Quidditch, wanna go flying with me instead?"
It was an innocent invitation, Y/N knew, but it didn't stop her mind imagining each and every possibility that could happen to this event. She could only mutter a "Yes." a little breathless.
At the moment, for the first time, Y/N was in the Hufflepuff's Common Room to search for Ella, who she wishes to confront upon departing away from Katie. Well, she could have barge in to Nathan's dormitory to have someone to discuss this subject with but that would be totally awkward –especially the boy was still convince that all the jinx and hexes being thrown to her were all Katie's doing –and the boy had also said that he'll be busy his with assignments.
"Hey, what's up, little Siren?" asked the Nelson girl.
Y/N had been trying to talk for 15 minutes, searching for a way to speak out her concerns but she end up opening and closing her mouth like a fish would. The blood on her cheeks speaks louder though and Ella reach out Y/N's hand with a frown, worried.
Ella ignored her other friends, who didn't really bother butting in their exchange, and simply took Y/N out of the room, hoping that it'll be enough alone time for the two of them. Y/N cleared her throat, "Alright, what is it? You're making me worry, chap."
"I'm...en;" Y/N started hesitatingly and cowardly back away in the last minute, saying "f-forget about it; I...err; never mind. I'm sorry for bothering you." and tried to leave except Ella's grip wouldn't let her.
"Spill it out, N/N, come on, you know you can talk to me, yeah?" insisted Ella, worried of what was running through the girl's mind.
"El," Y/N took a deep breath and stared at Ella straight in the eyes –and surely, Ella saw a color glint in those eyes, a soft pink shade –and the older Hufflepuff was surprised when Y/N ask "El, what does it take to like someone?"
"What?" Ella breathed out; she's completely taken back at the sudden question.
"I-" Y/N gulp nervously, "I found m-myself fancying t-this person, and –and I don't know what to do." She confessed, alerting her eyes away –which mean that she missed the doomed look that surfaced upon Ella's face for a moment –and chuckled quite tensed. "And I thought that...maybe y-you could give me some advice about it?"
