I watched as he walked around his room, gathering his belonging and stuffing them into a suitcase and a couple bags.

"You for sure for sure you want to do this?" I asked him, hoping he would change his mind. He stopped and turned to me.

"Yes Tabby. I want to go and make music with a group that loves it as much as me." Kai told me. I nodded and frowned.

"It will be great for you." I said quietly. Kai went back to packing his things. His flight leaves in an hour. Kai was leaving for South Korea to pursue his dream of making music.

Kai and I had been best friends since we met in grade school. We had been in the same class together and we instantly bonded. That bond had never been broken and we were always close.

Kai's parents moved back to South Korea a couple years before to go back to their family. Kai stayed here because of me. He didn't want to leave me because he was the only person I really had here. My relationship with my parents has really never been the best and I was mostly always at Kai's place.

Now Kai has made the big decision to leave the states and me. I was in support of everything he wanted, I just didn't like the idea of being alone.

Kai zipped up his bags and suitcase. I stood up and grabbed one of his bags. He smiled softly.

"Thanks." We both walked out of his room and out the front door. Kai looked up at his small house and sighed. He had looked down at me and I remembered seeing the sadness on his face. He had moved his bags to one hand and held his other one out to me.

"C'mon Tab." I took the hand Kai offered me and he intertwined our fingers together. Our walk to the airport was quiet. I found myself glancing at him so often. I wanted to remember his face.

When the airport had come into view my heart sunk. Kai was really leaving and our time together was almost over.

Kai went through all the procedures and quickly it was time for him to go. We stood at the spot where he would be boarding. I looked up at him and Kai looked down at me.

"Please take care of yourself. I promise to call." Kai had told me. I softly smiled at him.

"Be careful Kai and live your dreams." I told him. He had smiled at me and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I love you Tabby. Always be happy. For me." Kai whispered into my ear.

"I love you Kai." He then pulled away and planted a kiss on my forehead. We looked each other in the eyes one last time and Kai turned around and walked away. It hurt to watch him walk away.

That was the last day I saw or heard from Kai.
