Chapter 2

*Listen to Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol while reading thia chapter*

"Boys, I would like all of you to meet your new manager. Her name is Tabby." Mr. Lee introduces me. I can't seem to take my eyes off of Kai. He just looks older and so handsome. Heads start to turn towards me. At the mention of my name, Kai stops moving and looks over at me. Our eyes connect and I hold my breath.

"Tabby?" I hear him ask. I start to softly smile. Well it seems like fate has brought us together again. Kai seems to shake himself, then starts to make his way over to me. As he comes over I look him up and down. Kai has really matured. His hair is a little longer than I remember it being.

Kai stops in front of me and butterflies make their appearance in my stomach.

"What are you doing here?" Kai asks a little sternly.

"Um well I came here to pursue my music manager dream." He sighs sounding annoyed.

"Wow. Of all places you came here?" I begin to frown.

"Kai, I wanted to be where you were."

"Of all the places you could have gone you picked here." Kai sighs again. My eyes never leave his face. He is so much harder to read than he used to be. My heart drops and I sigh quietly. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to come here.

"Kai who is this?" I hear a voice ask behind me. I turn my head and see the guy coming towards us. He looks very familiar. He stops beside me and smiles sweetly at me. I find myself instantly smiling at him, liking him already.

I glance at Kai and he rolls his eyes.

"Tabby, this is Taehyung from the group BTS." No wonder he looked so familiar.

"Nice to meet you Taehyung."

"Same to you Tabby." He looks over at Kai. Kai seems annoyed with everything happening. Taehyung looks back at me with a big smile.

"We are friends." He motions to Kai. Kai looks at me.

"Where are you even staying? Do you even have a place?"

"Well I.." Kai sighs again.

"Taehyung, take her home. Right now."

"To my house?" Tae asks.

"Wait I can stay at a hotel." I say, but I don't think Kai is even listening to me.

"Tae just take her. You can start tomorrow." Kai points his finger at me then turns and walks away.

"Kai.." I say, but it's useless. I watch as he walks away from us. I turn to Taehyung.

"I'm so sorry." I tell him. He shakes his head.

"I really don't mind. I could use a roommate."

"Thank you." I say quietly. Tae links our arms together and I grab all my bags. I look back once before leaving the room and Kai isn't even watching us leave. I sigh sadly. Did I make a mistake in coming here?

We walk back through the whole building and we walk out the front door. Taehyung and I start walking down the sidewalk.

"My apartment isn't far from here." He tells me. I nod. As we walk I look around at everything we pass. This is really a beautiful city.

Tae stops and takes a key from his pocket. He unlocks the door and lets me go in first. I stop once I get in. I turn to Taehyung.

"Thank you for this. You really didn't have to take me in." He smiles.

"I couldn't just do that. Plus I like you already and I think this will end in friendship." He winks as he passes me. He gestures to follow him. Taehyung opens a door and steps aside.

"This will be your room. I will leave you alone. I'm sure you're very tired." I smile at him.

"Thanks again." I walk into the room and he closes the door behind me. I look around the small room.

I set my bags down and walk over to the bed. I sit down on it and I feel all my emotions come rushing through me. I start crying. I'm angry at how Kai treated me back there and sad because I was hoping for a different reaction out of him. What happened to the Kai I knew?

I lay down and put my face into the pillow. I instantly fall asleep from exhaustion.
