"Hello?" Summer answered the phone.
"Is your mum there?" Harry asked for the millionth time, voice full of hope.
Summer shook her head, "I dunno. She says I'm not supposed to talk to you."
"Tell her I've suffered nearly six long years without her, its just around your age, I bet." He sighed into the phone.
The little girl corrected him. "I'm still five years old, mister. My birthday isn't for another two weeks. But," She asked curiously, "How do you know my mummy?"
"I met her long before you were born." Was all he replied.
"So did you know my daddy too?" She asked with a gasp, intrigued.
Harry nodded slowly, though she couldn't see him through the phone. "Yeah...I knew him."
"Was he handsome like mummy says? I've never seen pictures of him cause mummy keeps them locked up and I'm too scared to ask for them. She says the memories make her sad and I don't like to see sad mummy." Summer explained. "But I think he probably has green eyes like me cause mummy's eyes are light brown. I think he has princely green eyes."
He chuckled softly. "He was quite handsome."
"As handsome as Harry Styles?" Summer beamed.
"What?" He froze.
"Harry Styles." Summer repeated. "Mummy and I really like One Direction and I told her Harry is the most handsomest. But mummy likes Niall bestest. I always imagine my daddy is as handsome as Harry Styles cause he has green eyes."
Taking a deep breath to steel himself, he changed the subject. He found that talking to his daughter was more difficult than he thought.
"So, you said your birthday is coming up?" He asked casually.
"Mhm." Summer quipped.
"I'm gonna send you a bunch of presents from here in England and I'm gonna have them dropped off before mummy gets home, okay?" He told her. "Cause I know she doesn't like me to send things over there."
"Thank you, mister! Mummy always donates the other presents you send me." The little girl said into the phone with a pout on her lips.
"Summer..." He heard Autumn's irritated voice as she stomped over to her daughter. "How many times have I told you not to answer the phone? From now on, mommy and grandma will answer it, okay?"
"I forgot..." The little girl said in a low voice.
Autumn said angrily into the phone, feeling the tears coming on, "Stop calling me. Just leave us alone."
And she slammed the phone down into its box, ending the call.
