"So, is that what really happened?" Asked Aath. He was the only council member who either wasn't too intimidated, or too in awe of year-group eleven to try and interrogate them.
"Of course. Why would I have any reason to lie?" Buzzed Voleria.
"I could think of a few."
"You know I heard a wise man once say that no one ever lied to anyone they weren't afraid of. And I'm not afraid of anyone." Aath could feel his skin crawl. He was in fact very afraid of Voleria. Looking at Voleria made it seem like there were hundreds of insects crawling all over his skin. Maybe there was, but he wouldn't let this damn amalgamation get the best of him.
"And if I found out that you did lie to me?" Aath leaned closer to Voleria.
"I guess I would be the first thing that would have lied to someone they weren't afraid of."
"Well let me tell you a little something. You'd have to be crazy to not be afraid of me."
...
"Do you really think I can stay with you?" Asked Tora. Tora was all packed and ready to go as she stood in the room that Celesta and Nano shared.
"Of course!" Said Celesta. "My word is law. And the Order would be insane to try and take you back. Besides, it's not like they escorted you on the way over here." She packed her things into the many boxes marked with the Magus Uni sigil. Even so, she was being changed into new clothes by several servants trying to maneuver around her busy body.
"Besides, they won't be able to do anything about it. We're not gonna travel with the caravan." Said Nano. He was sitting on a single chest that held all of his things. It was quite small though, and Tora wondered why that was.
"What do you mean?" Asked Tora. Celesta walked over and touched Tora on her cheek gently.
"Aw, poor thing doesn't know about world stepping?" Celesta was clearly mocking Tora. Tora quickly brushed away Celesta's hand.
"No, I don't."
"That's fine." Said Nano. "You'll only feel nauseas for a minute."
"Perfect timing too! I'm all dressed and ready to go." Sang Celesta
"Wait!" Exclaimed Tora. They disappeared in a flash of purples and yellows.
...
"Why would a rogue mage attack the Hall?" Asked Aath.
"Why not?" Responded Noromac. "They're probably not happy with the Kingdom, and they probably thought the High Council would be at the Hall."
"But why?"
"How would I know? It's not like I know how mages think."
"I'm going to need you to try real hard."
...
Garvhoz fiddled with a knife in one of the courtyards of the Hall with Seilana and Svetra nearby. None of them looking at each other, but they felt closer to each other than ever before.
"They said they were gonna have another Tournament, but that the 'attack' cancelled the plan." Said Garvhoz. "Would any of you know what that would have been like?"
"Not in the slightest." Answered Seilana.
"If there was another I feel like we would have won." Svetra spoke in monotone, something she doesn't normally do.
