I arrived at the small diner I was meeting Mason at. I went to the podium at the front. "Uh, I'm meeting Mason here"? the women behind the podium pointed to a table for two by the window.

I smiled when I saw him. He looked better when he wasn't in the crowded dark.

The diner was nice it wasn't very crowded and was a bit small. But a comfortable small. It glowed with natural light beaming through the window. Mason sat looking out the window with his head slightly tilted up, his eyes closed, as if he was sniffing the sunlight.

I approached him with a smile. He saw me and grinned largely. I liked his smile.

"Hi" I said shyly"

"Hello, Clara" he greeted his reply. Both if us were smiling still when I seated myself.

"How are you" he asked. Aw, polite.

"I'm well, and you"? I replied.

He laughed. I like his laugh. "I'm good" he said with a chuckle. "What?" I asked.

He smiled. "We sound so proper" he told me.

I laughed as well. "Yeah" I said.

"Wanna hear a joke?" he asked. "Sure". I said.

"Why did the booger cross the road?" he asked.

"Why"?

"Because he was being picked on"! I laughed really hard, I felt my cheeks become pink. He smiled at me.

"I like your laugh" he told me. I smiled and looked down.

He hummed a tune. "What was that"? I asked looking up.

He hummed again.

It seemed familiar, but I couldn't lay my finger on it. He shook his head, still smiling.

"The way you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell,
You don't know oh, oh oh
You don't know you're beautiful." He talk-sang.

I looked down again.

"See?" he said. "You relate to the song."

I actually quite enjoyed that song, now I think I liked it even more.

"You wanna here a joke now?" I asked Mason. He nodded.

"What do you call a lesbian dinosaur?" I asked, trying not to burst out laughing. He gave me a weird look. "What"? he asked hesitantly.

"Lickalotapuss"

He burst out laughing and I laughed along, smiling.
