So..

Either this or the next chapter (maybe) will be the last.

I know I tried to make this around 40 chapters, but..

Nah.

Malfoy's POV

Confessing is hard.

That's why I'm not going to do it.

Yet. I sat there, quill ever so slightly above the off-white parchment, a drop of ink about to fall. I was unsure what to write, hell, how to even start. I decided to just let my quill dance across the parchment. I couldn't change what I wrote, and if I disliked it, it would be too late. Deciding not to sign in, I bolted off towards the Owlerey. Sorry, did I say bolted? I mean walked as fast as my legs could carry me.

Look at me, following rules.

The large, light brown barn owl nipped at the letter, which was secure in a cream-like colored envelope, and soared off. I didn't bother to check if it got to it's destination. Again, I walked back to the dungeons.

Mother would be proud.

Mione's POV

It stared at me.

"Let me guess, it's-"

It wasn't what I expected.

I had no clue what to say. I recognized the handwriting... "...that smooth motherfucker.."
I'd be breathless, and then I'd be disgusted a split-second later. "What's that Mione? Is it from your-"

"SHUT UP! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT TODAY!"

"O-okay.. S-sorry.." Ginny mumbled. She was adorable, I couldn't stay mad at her. "S-sorry! I... sorry. I  have.. A lot on my mind, it's.. Been hard to deal with people.. That's all."  She looked up, smiling weakly. Her hands were cupped, and her knees were together. It was early, and most people were just getting up now. I was always an early riser.

People complain about that.

Weeks before, we'd exchange letters. Well.. When we were friends. I didn't bother to respond.

Like he'd reply.. I gathered my belongings, dumped them into my book bag and dashed off. I was hardly in the Great Hall, until someone pulled me off into an isolated corner.

"Hey! Who-"

"Granger, shut up."

"OH, YOU ARSE, YOU THINK-"

"No, really. Shut up."

I really had to shut up, otherwise Professor McGonagall would have came in and checked on us. Wouldn't want that, would we?

And as if he pulled the thoughts out of my head, he said "Don't want her to notice, do we?"

"N-no... W-why am I.."

I realized.

"Granger.. H..Hermione.."

What.

"Parkinson spoke to you, I assume..?"

I nodded.

"Don't.. Don't listen to her. She's just about as insecure as you are"

"Pardon me..!"

"I, er, heh.. That.. didn't come out as expected..!"

No. No it didn't.

"Well.. Hermione.. Listen.. I. Was stupid."

"Yeah you were!"

"I was stupid enough to let.. To let someone like.."

"To let someone like you go was hard.."

The atmosphere had dropped.

"It.. was... It was the hardest.. Hell, the worst thing I've ever done. I-"

I silenced him. (shippers get ready)

"I don't think you have to continue."

We both smiled, then I could see it in his eyes. He saw an opportunity. Leaning down, my ears tingled as I heard those words.

"You just like me, that's why."

And the rest can remain unknown.

Thank you so much for reading Star Crossed Lovers!

And no, there won't be an "After Party" (old followers would remember) to this. I'm finished with writing Harry Potter fanfiction for now.

Currently, I'm working on my OWN story called 'Everstone', so checking it out would be great!

See ya later, penguins
