I ordered my favorite pizza, Hawaiian, and sat back down on the couch.
The two boys came down to the living room.
"What kind of pizza did you get?" Jake asked.
"Hawaiian. You all like Hawaiian, right?"
"Sure."
"Oh well. Good, because it's too late to order anything else." As if on cue, the doorbell rang.
I opened it, and a boy I knew that goes to school with me, but was always rude, stood there.
"Oh, ew. Depressed freak, slash psycho fighter!" He laughed at his own joke, and the three boys came up behind me.
"Excuse me?" Colby asked.
"That's my sister, douchbag. You wanna say anymore shit?" Jake practically growled.
"Hey, fucker, do you really want to fight? Or just keep talking shit?"
"So now she has three male whores here for herself? How much did she pay?" I grabbed the pizza out of his hands, shoved a 20 in its place, and then moved out of the way.
Jake grabbed his collar, and punched the guy hard, and blood came gushing out of his nose.
"Son of a bitch! You will NOT EVER say anything else about my sister! You GOT IT?!"
I grabbed Jake's arm, and pulled him inside as the guy ran off to his car.
"Thank you Jake. God, I swear..." I sighed.
"No one will ever fuck with you ever again, as long as Adrian and I are there at school."
Adrian nodded. "'We will kick their asses if anyone says SHIT about you." Their voices were feirce.
"And I will too." Colby wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Thanks you guys. You all are the best." I pulled all of the guys in for a group hug.
I pulled away. "Dinner time!!!"
We ate in silence, and eventually, I broke it.
"Music." I whispered.
The guys looked at me. "What?" Jake asked.
"Music." My voice was quiet.
I stood and ran to my room, where my phone was playing music quietly.
Locking the door, I listened, and quickly identified the song.
You and I
By 1 Direction
This was my favorite song, before the accident. And it was playing during it.
Why was it playing?
Why?
What did I ever do to deserve this?
This... this punishment of life?
To lose my family, and then suffer through it for...
I sighed quietly, then began to sob silently.
A knock on my door startled me.
"Chelsea... it's me. Can I come in?"
It was Colby.
I unlocked the door, and sat back down on the bed.
Colby shut the door behind him, and sat next to me, and I leaned into him.
"Colby. The song. It was-" I took a deep breath in. "I-it was w-w-what was p-p-playing during the accident!" I hiccuped, and he rubbed circles on my back soothingly.
"Shhhh, it's okay... Chelsea, you're not there..." He whispered, and I closed my eyes.
"I just wanna go to bed. Just.... just tell them I wasn't feeling well, please?" My voice was barely a whisper.
"Do you want me to stay?" He asked.
I barely nodded, and Colby carefully lied me down in my bed, and covered me up with the sheets.
"Rest. I'll be back. We have school in the morning."
Colby walked downstairs -I heard- and I locked my door.
I need to leave here. Now.
Silently, I got up, and grabbed my backpack.
It was packed full, with clothes, food, and toiletries, along with an unlimited credit card, $2000 dollars cash, and a perfected fake ID.
Yes, I have planned for leaving.
