One Month Later
"Your going to be a great mommy," Diane chuckled a little sadly.
It had been a month since Johnny's death, and soon after, Azalea learned she was about 2 months pregnant. Now 3 months along, she was living in a shelter through the Protector of All organization, and was struggling to get through depression.
Johnny's family wanted Azalea dead at first, but then they heard the whole story through Arthur, the leader who helped in the woods. They warmed up even more when they learned Johnny had fathered her unborn child.
Diane, Johnny's sister, had become Azalea's biggest support system, coming up with names and making up scenarios. When asked why she wasn't too sad about Johnny, she said she was with their father, in heaven.
"I don't know. I don't think I can handle it. Being reminded of Johnny every day...."
Diane cut her off. "Did you love my brother?" She asked.
"More than the air I breathed," Azalea said a tear running down her cheek.
"Then a reminder of him should be a heavenly blessing! To all of us!"
Azalea realized she was right. " But Why him? He was so good. So perfect. I-I hate myself! I got him Killed!" Azalea cried. This happened all to often, and Azalea wanted it to all be over.
"He is not dead! He's right here," she said laying a hand on her stomach. "And here." She pointed to her heart. "You're to wise to be 15," Azalea smiled.
"Ooh, get some sleep." Diane smiled back.
