Gossip Girl here with your Back to School update. Blair was spotted moving into her new dorm at NYU. Her new roommate seems to be a familiar face, but we'll dig into that later. As for Serena, she seems to have skipped out on Brown and onto a new beau. Nate has been enjoying his time at Columbia, along with the ladies on campus. As for Chuck, he's busy building his empire, just like any Bass would. As for our seniors back in Constance, it seems to be that everything is finally falling into place. Let's hope there's no twist in fate.
You know you love me,
xoxo Gossip GirlMadison's Pov:
I never really realized that all my friends were seniors. It was going to be a lonely year. Well, at least I get to see Chuck after school. I scoffed at the thought, how could he stoop so low? I opened my locker, putting my books away for the day before getting a notification on my phone.
"Limo's out front for you. So is your work attire. -C"
I groaned. Might as well. Knowing he's just going to tell my dad anyways. I sighed, going over to the limo. I changed into a pencil skirt along with a baby blue dress shirt. I stepped out of the limo into Bass Industries, walking down the hallway to Chuck's office. I walked in, for the first time in my life I saw Chuck looking like an actual adult. I was taken aback for a moment. He looked up from his paperwork, smirking.
"Hello, Ms.Waldorf," he said as I sighed.
"Cut the crap Chuck, what's my job?" I scoffed as he got up, handing me a clipboard.
"We have a meeting in ten minutes in conference room B," he said looking over me intently."I see the uniform fits you nicely," he taunted. I rolled my eyes, grabbing a pen and walking with him to the conference room. Before we walked in, he pulled me into the hallway.
"Look I know you don't want this Madison. But this is the only way I could speak to you," he spoke, gently placing his hands on my waist as I smacked them away.
"Listen Chuck, whatever we had. It's over. I don't really want my sister's sloppy seconds," I said softly, hesitantly placing my hands on his chest to push him away. He grabbed them.
"You don't make me feel the same way your sister does," he said quietly as my heart fluttered for a moment.
"And what's that?" I spoke quietly looking up at him intently.
"You make me feel- God I don't know truly what it is. You make me feel comfort. I don't know, I just can't find that feeling with anyone else," my face heated up a bit as he smiled weakly.
"Listen, you don't have to come work for me. I won't tell your dad anything," he said lacing his fingers with mine. "But now that you finally heard what I've had to say, I leave it to you," he said as I smiled weakly.
"Okay. Yeah," I said softly."I'll text you," I smiled weakly before quietly stepping away. I fought the urge to turn around. I mean, was I really going to do this? Chuck was nothing but bad news when it came to women. I don't know. I just had to think. I walked out of the building, deciding it was better to walk. As I walked up to my building, my eyes softened at the sight of him.
"Carter Baizen, what are you doing here. And at the Waldorf penthouse, no less," I said as he turned to look at me, smirking at the sight.
"My my, Waldorf Jr. You've grown haven't you?" he taunted as I scoffed.
"You still haven't answered my question. What are you doing here?" I said bitterly. He smirked.
"I was just looking for Serena. I've been seeing her a lot in the papers. Needed to make sure she's okay."
I gasped sarcastically, "Baizen has a heart. I'm shocked, truly," I said rolling my eyes before walking into the building, Carter trailing behind me.
"Look, let me just see if she's here alright?" he said getting in the elevator. He looked over me, pursing his lips. "What's with the outfit?" he said as I shrugged.
"If you must know, Chuck bought it for me for work," I said as he frowned.
"Wow. You're the only Upper East Sider I had faith wouldn't fall into his clutches," he said with a shrug.
"What do you mean like that?" I said softly.
"Cmon. Nate has been fucked over by Chuck one too many times and yet they're still best friends. Him and Blair- I bet you Blair's waiting for him at his penthouse as we speak. Serena, well Serena is his step sister. She can't help but take his side at times. And that new guy Dan. Well Chuck was about to rape his sister but he still goes out and spends the summer with him in the Hamptons," he laughed bitterly. "You- you don't deserve that. I've seen how you are, you're nothing like Blair. You don't need to fall into that," he said softly. "I know you sit alone at school. I was looking around for Serena and found myself at Constance. You don't want to be popular. You want to be somebody far away from this bullshit. Don't let Chuck change your ideals, Madison."
Carter stepped out of the elevator, my eyes softened as I thought about his words, carefully stepping out behind him as he looked around for Serena. I bit on my lip. I realized that he was right. When I was with him, I practically became one of these Upper East Side girls. That trip did change me for the better, I was my own person. I looked up, seeing Carter sigh heavily. "I cant wait for her any longer. My flight is leaving," he said as he was about to go to the elevator, I quickly stood up.
"Where are you going exactly?" I said softly as he smirked, turning to look at me.
"I'm going to Europe, a small tour around. Serena and I was going to look for someone we couldn't find over summer. But if you're not busy," he teased.
I smiled weakly, "I'll pack a bag," I hummed happily.
