     Amethyst Rendón has been moving around ever since she was young. Now that she's found somewhere to spend her next year of high school, everything seems to be looking up for the teen.

     But something is taking place at this school, something that takes every girl down with it. The Wolfhard Effect.

     What's the Wolfhard Effect, you ask? Well, it's 17 years old, has curly brown hair, a face full of freckles, and every girl in the school has felt it.

     Now it's Amethyst's turn. She and Finn start to get close, but what she doesn't know is that Finn's friend bet him $1,000 that Finn couldn't win her over in less than two months. Finn took up the challenge, and now he has Amethyst eating out of the palm of his hand.

     But, by the time he realizes his true feelings, will it be too late? How can he win her back after she finds out about the bet? Will he be able to keep her from falling for their mutual friend? Is there really a cure for the Wolfhard Effect?
