Lupin sat petting Lilith, trying to her calm. The fox soon fell asleep, continuing to purr in content. Lupin slowly laid her down trying to sneak out and not wake her. Lilith shifted in her sleep, feeling his warmth disappear. She opened her eyes and looked at him, still half-awake as she spoke, "Where are you going?" Lupin froze "Umm I was going to let you sleep.. I didn't think you would of wanted me sleeping next to you..." Lupin said quietly. "Please don't go far... your warm for a cold-hearted hunter...." she said softly. "Fine..." Lupin said as he came back to the bed laying next to her, being careful to leave some space between them. She shifted closer to him before falling back asleep, starting to purr again. Lupin closed his eyes, thinking about where he was before falling asleep.

Lilith opened her eyes in confusion a few hours later, feeling something warm and soft against her. Her eyes widened when she saw the hunter and screamed, slapping him harshly before kicking him off the bed quickly. "WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!" she screamed at him, her fur puffed out. Lupin jumped up scrambling backward. "L-look it w-wasn't my idea, y-you told me to stay right as I was about to leave the room..." Lupin rushed out. Lilith growled and threw a pillow at him, hitting him in the face before screaming at him again, "AND WHY WOULD I WANT THAT?!" "I don't know something about you being cold and a cold-hearted hunter being warm and you snuggled against me!" Lupin again rushed out. She growled and lunged at him, ignoring the pain shooting up her leg as she started pinning him to the ground. "YOU ARE A JERK! WHY THE HELL WOULD I SNUGGLE WITH SOMEONE WHO KILLS PEOPLE LIKE ME?!" she growled darkly at him, resisting the urge to punch him. "Nope. You need to go back to sleep." Lupin pinched the nerve again knocking her out cold. Lupin pushed the fox off him and set her onto the bed, walking out. "Why is she so freaking bipolar?!" he punched a wall, leaving a dent in it.

Lilith woke up to the sound of him hitting the wall, her head quickly turning toward the direction of the door. She listened closely to him, being able to hear him through the walls. "I was trying to be a nice guy and this shit is what I get?" Lupin punched another wall leaving another dent. "Dammit!" Lupin yelped as he shook his hand. Lilith whimpered nervously, knowing it was her fault he was acting like this. She carefully got out of the bed and looked at the hole again. 'He'd be better with me gone... at least then he wouldn't be so angry and annoyed of a target he was supposed to kill...' she thought bitterly to herself. Lupin stormed back in, "Can you walk?" he asked sounding a little demanding. She laid her ears back nervously and nodded. "With me then." Lupin walk out grabbing a splitting maul and a ax on the way out. She followed him nervously, afraid of his current temper.

"What do you want to do cut down the trees or split the already cut wood?" Lupin asked. "S-split wood... I g-guess...." she replied softly, her voice shaking slightly. "Do you know how?" Lupin asked. Lilith stayed quiet, her ears laid flat as she looked at him with wide, nervous eyes as her tail curled around her. "I'll take that as a no. It's simple, you put the smaller long on this stump and you split it down the middle."Lupin stated bluntly. She glanced away, feeling embarrassed that she didn't know how to split the wood. Lupin handed her the maul before walking off into the woods. I watched him leave before sighing, still feeling bad about before.

Lupin walked off about 100 yards away before finding a tree to cut down. "Why is she so stubborn!" Lupin muttered to himself as he swung the ax, cutting a good chunk out of the tree. "Why is she so prideful!" Lupin muttered under his breath as he swung the ax again. " And why is she so damn hot?!" he asked himself as he swung the ax and he turned around the tree fell just missing his tail he yelped loud enough for Lilith to hear. "Ops..." he mutter under his breath as he forced down his hackles. Lilith quickly rushed over to him to see what was going on. "Are you alright?" she noticed the tree, "YOU IDIOT! YOU COULD HAVE GOTTEN YOURSELF KILLED!!" she screamed at him. "And you care why? Wouldn't you be happy to see another bounty hunter dead?" Lupin snapped coldly. Lilith flinched a bit before she growled and laid her ears flat again, "Why do I even bother...." she muttered before starting to run back to the cabin, ignoring the pains in her leg as she ran. She ran into the cabin and slammed the door, the noise echoing through the forest. Lupin growled before finding a large oak tree and he started to cut it down swinging again and again.

Lilith paced in the room back and forth, her fur tingling in rage. "The one moment I go to start caring for the jerk, the stupid mutt reminds me why I don't start caring about him.... I don't even see why he keeps me here instead of letting me go home... his contractor is bound to ask about his assignment soon..." she spoke to herself before sighing, sliding down the wall to the floor, closing her eyes as she became lost in thought.

Lupin heard a loud 'crack' as he watched his ax head go flying. 'Shit' he thought to himself as he turned around, a strong gust of wind pushing the tree past its breaking point and it started to fall, time seeming to slow down as Lupin turned around while watching the tree fall. Lupin attempted to dive out of the way of the large oak, making it halfway before he felt the weight of the tree pin his legs against the ground. Lilith heard the tree fall and rushed out of the house, having a feeling something was wrong. She laid her ears back in fear, not seeing him. "Lupin?!" she called out, worry-filled in her voice. Lupin muttered something indistinguishable that was just loud enough for her to hear. She flinched and quickly jumped over the tree so she was next to him. "Lupin?! What happened? Are you ok? One second, I'll get you out of there." she said quickly before starting to dig him out as fast as she could, quickly pulling him out the moment he could slip out from under the large oak tree. "Leg.... broken... can't... w-walk.." he said before passing out from the pain. She whimpered and tried shaking him back awake before giving up and starting to carefully drag him back to the cabin. She carefully set him on his bed and quickly started looking at the wounds. Lilith looked at the wolf before finding some bandages and working on his wounds.

A few hours later Lupin started to wake up, the scent of some tea filling his room. "Who-who's in here?" Lupin asked reaching for the knife that he normally kept at his belt finding it wasn't there. Lilith walked in with a warm cup of tea, glancing at his wounds quickly before looking at him. "Here... it'll help with the pain." she said softly before carefully giving him the tea. Lupin attempted to sit up, flinching in pain as he did. "Nope... that's not happening..." Lupin muttered. Lilith carefully sat down on the bed next to him, still having a hold on the cup. She sighed, "want me to help you drink? You could use the tea to help ease the pain." She looked him in the eyes, a glint of worry and guilt in her own. "Yes please... at least If it's not a problem..." Lupin said quietly. She smiled softly at him before carefully lifting the cup to his mouth, tilting it just enough to where he could drink at his own accord, Lupin doing so carefully as to not spill on himself. "How... How bad is the break?" Lupin asked. Lilith sighed shaking her head. "Bad enough to where you wont be getting out of the cabin anytime soon...." she stated quietly.

Lupin looked down sad "Oh... Can you hunt? I'm running low on food..." Lilith smiled softly at him before answering, "I'll do my best.... But if things turn south I'll find a way to get food.... Promise." Lupin nodded before laying back down and falling into a deep restless sleep. Lilith smiled at him when he did, setting the cup on the table. "Sleep well wolf.... I'll be back soon." she said as she got up, leaving the cabin and heading to the village, careful to wait until the cover of dusk. She slipped into the village and headed to its market, quickly stealing food from the stores that hasn't closed up yet. The young Vixen quickly started back to the forest once she got a couple bags of food, heading to the cabin quickly before she was caught.

She walked into the cabin a half a hour later, setting the food down in the kitchen before going to check up on Lupin. Lupin awoke to the door opening, forcing himself to sit up. "Hey..." he said quietly. Lilith looked at him and quickly went to his side, forcing him to lay down again. "Rest." she stated plainly. "I'm not very good at 'resting'..." Lupin replied. Lilith sighed, "well get used to it hunter, because you are going to be doing a lot of it." Her hand was still on his chest as she spoke. Lupin sighed bored "Why? I hate sitting still..." Her tail flicked. "Unless you want to hurt your leg more you're STAYING. IN. BED." she growled, sounding a bit like a protective mother.

Lupin chuckled, replying half-heartedly "I guess I have no choice.... Mother." Lupin said sarcastically. She growled again and slapping him lightly before getting up and walking to the door. Lilith paused as she opened the door, glancing at Lupin, "Sleep..." she said, pausing before saying sarcastic, "you idiotic pup..." Lupin smirked before laying down and trying to sleep. Lilith smiled at him before walking out, shutting the door behind her quietly. She went to the kitchen and started putting the food away, cleaning the dishes after she did.
