" you're not going anywhere, Holly! Get back here! " My mum's yelling rang throughout my ears in an annoyingly loud voice.
I continued walking at a fast pace beside my brother, who was pulling my suitcase for me, towards the car.
" you're not going to see that boy! " She shouted, making the anger inside of me boil up, ready to fizz over the limit.
" you keep following him around like a lost puppy, Holly! It isn't real love, it won't last! "
Were the final words that left my mothers mouth, before I span on my heel, my fists curling up into a ball.

My mom and dad had came back home from London after months of not seeing us, many, many, months. They didn't even apologise, they just barged in, before scolding me about my boyfriend. The boy's who's been there for me throughout times that they couldn't be, because business was always more important. The pair didn't know that Ethan had booked me a flight to New Jersey, to stay for as long as I pleased. I didn't have a return ticket, the plan was just to go whenever I needed to go.
However, when I tried to sneak out this morning to head to the airport, she caught me red handed, and followed me out of the house and into our street, wearing only her dressing gown and slippers.

Before I could even interrupt her, she'd spoken again, her words making my heart shatter into hundreds of tiny pieces, and my nostrils flare in annoyance.
" he's changing you, Holly! I can barely recognise my own daughter! "
I couldn't even think before I'd scoffed, stepping towards the woman with my eyes turning glossy.
" you can't recognise me, because you haven't been here for god knows how long! And it will last, I'll make sure of it! " I yelled, my words shaky and filled with hurt.
" bullshit " She folded her arms against her chest, almost laughing in my face.
" I'm going, and I don't want to come back. You won't have to see me anymore " I stuttered, my voice breaking as I held back the tears.
" what makes you think he's going to let you stay with him? you're pregnant! he'd be right to leave you!! " She screamed, silence following after her words.
I shook my head, opening my mouth to speak, to defend the boy I love, until I stopped. Instead, my eyes naturally peeled down towards my belly, which was growing a baby inside, a thought that made my heart beat that little bit faster.
With that thought in mind, I let out a breath, looking back at my brother who was starting the car.
" no, he won't. The only person that's leaving is me, and I'm leaving you "

I wiped my tears from my eyes, my cheeks blotchy and red from crying. I heard the car come to a stop, a sign that we had reached the airport. I wasn't ready to leave my brother, and I knew he wasn't ready to leave me. He was the only person who knew about this, I hadn't even told Sam. I knew she'd support me, but the ball of fear that was resting in the pit of my stomach was enough to put me off telling anyone else.
" I don't know if I'm comfortable with my pregnant sister flying alone... " Lucas said with a gentle laugh, something which made me smile.
" and I'm also not comfortable staying with mum and dad " He sighed this time, making me frown.
I instantly pulled the tall boy into a hug, my small arms wrapping around his waist. I loved my brother with all of my heart, and I didn't want him to suffer while I was gone.
" they'll leave in a couple days, Luke, you'll be fine " I told him, ruffling up his hair, having to stand on my tiptoes to do so.
He chuckled, shaking his head at me jokingly.
" I hope so. How long will you be gone? " He asked me, his eyes filled with hope.
It was obvious that he was desperately wanting me to say a few weeks, but I knew that wasn't the answer. As soon as I tell Ethan I'm pregnant, I know he'll make me stay, and I actually wanted to stay with him too.
" I'll fly you out, you and Sam " I tried my best to smile, something which made him nod.
He gave me one last hug before handing me my suitcase, saying his goodbyes and watching me head into the airport.
The truth was, I didn't know how long I'd be gone. Maybe long enough for this baby to be born on New Jersey soil, I had no clue.
