Gabbie sits motionless at the kitchen table, staring blankly at her bowl of cereal; she doesn't have it in her to eat. That's how it's been the past month, just sitting at the table and wishing he was back. A pounding on her door awakens the comatose like state of the witch and with a flick of her wrist the door opens, she could care less who was at the door. If it was a leech so be it. But standing at the door is a seething Paul, that is until he sets eyes on the pale weak witch. He steps in the house slowly and his face drops.
"Gabs." He breathes out sadly and she stares blankly at him. "Gabs how long have you been like this?" He touches her cheek and feels that it's cold to the touch so he quickly pulls her to his body, trying to warm her up. Gabrielle whimpers and curls into him.
"He's gone. He left. Why would he leave?"
"I've got You, Gabs. I swear I'll never leave.

The smell of blood alarms Paul and he barges into Gabbie's house. He dashes up the stairs and follows the scent to the bathroom; he pounds on the door repeatedly as the smell gets stronger and whimpers and cries are heard.
"Gabbie open the damn door! Gabbie!" There's no response and he quickly kicks the door in, seeing Gabbie with a razor in her hand and blood dripping from her fingers and wrist. Paul knocks the sharp object out of her hand and grabs a towel, lightly dabbing the open wounds. Gabbie just stares blankly at her hands, silent tears flowing down her olive cheeks. Paul looks at her before embracing her in a hug and her tears turn into sobs as she clutches onto his thin t shirt.

Paul enters her house in the usual manner for what marks a month. He walks into the kitchen to see her blankly staring at the ring on her finger. The ring the leech gave her as a promise never to leave.
"Why the hell do you still wear that?" asks Paul enraged but Gabbie just gives him a sad smile.
"It's the last thing I have of him."

Paul opens the door with a sigh expecting Gabbie to be sitting at the table but finds her humming as she cooks pancakes. She turns to Paul as he enters the kitchen and smiles.
"Right on time! I have chocolate pancakes and plain. I also cooked some strawberry and blueberry muffins."
"Gabs! You're baking!"
"Yeah, I thought I'd done a lot of moping and it's time to move on."

Gabbie comes to a realization, the only reason she is okay is because of this damn imprint. She's happy that she isn't moping around like Bella but that means it's because of Paul. It means she feels something for him, that she's breaking her promise to Jasper. The moment Paul enters her house she sends him a glare.
"Get out."
"What?" he is caught off guard, what did he do to upset her.
"I said get out, Paul! I don't want a mutt around my house!"
"What the hell, Gabrielle!"
"YOU'RE THE REASON HE'S GONE!"
"If this is about that damn leech." warns Paul with a snarl.
"His name's Jasper!"
"And where was he when I was cleaning the blood off your wrist, when I was picking you up from where he left you on the ground!"
"This whole imprint is the reason he left me!" she shoves him harshly. "It's your fault!"

Paul shows up at her doorstep suddenly after two weeks of not talking, clothed in jeans and a v-neck, his smile somewhat sheepish knowing the witch recently hated his guts.
