"Alright, there haven't been any anomalies in the timeline, yet, but that only means that Syndrome is working hard to put it all together, so we need to train, and we need to train hard," Wilbur explained as he paced back and forth in front of Violet, Hiro, Penny, and Bolt.
"We need to find our weaknesses and make them strengths," Violet joined in.
"Exactly," Wilbur agreed.
They all changed into their suits and got ready to test out their abilities.
"This suit is really comfortable Hiro!" Penny exclaimed and twirled.
"Oh, umm thank you," Hiro responded with a smile and ran a hand through his hair. They had to individually step into the "Simulation Room" as Hiro dubbed it. The room generated random scenarios to test out everyone's weaknesses and strengths.
"Violet, you're up first, keep your eyes closed until I tell you to open them," Hiro informed. She walked into the simulation room and the rest watched through the one-way window.
"Now, open your eyes," Hiro instructed through the intercom after pushing the start button. Violet found herself in the middle of a jungle much like the one in Syndrome's island. She looked around confused when her earpiece started beeping.
"Your mission is to survive as long as you can," it said.
"Wait, what do you mean-?" Violet started to ask before she heard a loud crash near her right side.
She immediately turned invisible and climbed a tree to get a better look. Once she reached the top she looked around but saw nothing until a tree was thrown at her.
"Ahh!" she screamed and jumped out of the way and towards the ground.
She groaned and crawled back as a giant robot came out of the trees. She turned invisible again and stopped moving, looking for anything that could help her. The robot seemed confused at first but then its "eye" turned red and it reached for her.
"Heat seeking, of course, Hiro would think of that," Violet muttered to herself and created a force field to stop the robot from grabbing her.
"I can't hold this on for long," Violet realized and with a sudden burst of determination used her force field to push the robot back.
"Huh, that's new," Violet muttered. She had never used her shield offensively before.
From the other side, Wilbur, Hiro, and Penny watched in amazement.
"Wow, that was so cool! Right?" Penny exclaimed and nudged Hiro.
"Yeah, I didn't know she could do that," Wilbur agreed and commented.
They continued watching for about an hour. They would often add more obstacles or take away resources. Violet was a pro compared to them. She seemed so confident and aware it completely blew them away.
"Alright, I think it's safe to say that she can survive long enough on her own," Hiro stated and pressed a button and the jungle went away, but not the robot. He pressed it multiple times but the robot was still inside chasing after Violet.
"What's going on? Why isn't the robot stopping?" Wilbur asked as he watched Violet being forced to run away since her only means of cover were gone.
"I don't know, I think it must be stuck!" Hiro exclaimed.
"We've got to help her! Let's distract the robot and make a run for the door," Wilbur exclaimed before jumping over the control panel and towards the door. He unlocked it and ran inside with Penny, Bolt, and Hiro following him.
"Hiro, what's going on?!" Violet exclaimed and made a large force field around the robot.
"I don't know! It's some sort of malfunction!" Hiro replied. Violet could feel the energy being drained from her body as the robot kept beating against her force field, trying to break free.
"Violet when I say 3 let it go, alright?" Wilbur asked and reached for his laser gun.
"What are you crazy-?!" Violet started to protest but stopped when she looked at him. Time was running out so she only nodded in response.
"1...2...3!" Wilbur exclaimed.
Violet quickly took the force field off and fell from exhaustion. Wilbur started firing at the robot with Hiro joining in. Penny remembered what Hiro told her and threw a bomb at it. Once the smoke cleared they could see that the robot was still standing with just a few scrapes. It shot a laser at them, effectively disarming Wilbur and jamming Hiro's own laser, before walking over to Violet.
"No! You oversized piece of junk!" Wilbur exclaimed and ran over to her side. He picked her up in his arms and jumped out of the way.
"If only I could get you out of here, maybe to the training room," Wilbur thought.
He glanced at Violet and closed his eyes while he continued to run. He suddenly felt weird, like he was walking through air. He opened his eyes and stopped abruptly when he saw the couch in from of him.
"Woah! What the?" he asked himself and looked around. He was in the middle of their training room right beside the couch. He looked at Violet and quickly laid her down on the couch.
"I'll be right back," he promised even though he knew she couldn't hear. He quickly ran back towards the Simulation Room and saw that Bolt, Hiro, and Penny were frantically looking around while dodging the robot.
"Guys! Over here!" Wilbur yelled and called them towards the door.
They were surprised but didn't hesitate to move once the robot swung its metal arm towards them. Penny picked Bolt up and started running. Hiro saw the robot gaining on them so he chose to test out his suit's flying mode. He pressed a button and picked Penny up before flying towards the door. Once they made it through Wilbur closed and locked it. The robot hit the door but couldn't get through.
"What just happened?!" Penny exclaimed.
"Where'd you go? One moment I see you running with Violet and the next there is some SMOKE and POOF you're gone!" Hiro rambled.
"I know, I know. First, we have to check on Violet. Then, I can try to explain," Wilbur told them and led the way back to the training area.
"Umm, Hiro?" Penny asked as Hiro followed Wilbur.
"Yes?" he asked and looked at her.
"Not that I don't mind being carried around, but could you please put me down now?" she asked with a smile.
"Oh right! Of course, sorry," Hiro apologized and set her down.
She giggled before following Wilbur. Hiro blushed from embarrassment and rubbed the back of his neck. They made it to the couch and saw an unconscious Violet.
"I'll go get Baymax!" Penny exclaimed. Bolt barked and followed her towards the elevator that brings them to the ground floor where the lab is located.
"She must have used more energy than she was used to," Hiro concluded.
"She'll be alright, right?" Wilbur asked and knelt beside her.
"I'm no doctor, but I'm sure she'll be fine after some sleep," Hiro replied. Wilbur nodded and hoped Hiro was right. A few minutes passed and they were starting to get worried.
"Does Penny know where Baymax is?" Wilbur asked.
"Of course. You all saw when Tadashi brought him here for safekeeping," Hiro answered. "Maybe I should go check on her." Just then the elevator dinged, signaling its arrival.
"Guys! Tadashi is here!" Penny exclaimed and ran out of the elevator with Baymax on a wagon.
"He didn't see me because I had Bolt distract him. We need to change," she explained and placed Baymax beside the table.
"He must know you're here since he saw Bolt, but I will stay here with Violet. You two go back up and see what's up," Wilbur instructed. Penny and Hiro nodded before running towards the changing rooms.
"We'll have to figure out what happened in the Simulation room later. Hopefully, this is only a minor inconvenience," Wilbur sighed.
