Chapter 22

*Alexis P.O.V*

We had been driving FOREVER. "How much longerrr" I whined. "Almost" he said. He wouldnt tell me where we're going and its making me frustrated. We pull off of the highway into a parking lot. The name of the resteraunt is Oranjee. "Oh!" I exclaimed.

The inside is much more elegant than the outside. Elaborate trees line the outside of the room. It is small, quaint, and COMPLETELY RENTED OUT! "Luke?!" I stutter. "You didnt have to..." "I wanted to" he smiles and leads me to a small table near the back.

We may be at a fancy resteraunt, however we are far from fancy. We order chicken mc nuggets and fried bananas to share. I get a coke and luke gets champagne for the both of us.

We walk out of Oranjee hand in hand. "Man, that was so good" I say. After our chicken mc nuggets we ordered more food because we're just that awesome. "Follow me," he says, "I know a great place to watch the stars."

He pulled me through the woods until we showed up at a clearing. "Woah!" I whisper. He pulls me to the top of a hill in the middle of the clearing. Then he falls to the ground pulling me with him. "They're beautiful!" "Yeah" he replies. I turn to see him looking at me. Little did I know our faces were inches apart. My eyes lift up to meet his. He leans in. It was short and simple, not full of lust or passion, but of serenity and love. It was all I needed.

As we walked hand in hand back to the car I stopped him at a small cafe. "Hey...um...Luke. We need to talk. Over coffee?" We walk in and order our drinks. He grabs them and sits next to me. "What is it?" he asks. "I found out...well...let me start from the beginning. When I was still in the orphanage, I found out my birth mom died of cancer. They wouldn't tell me her name, however, or how to contact her because she wanted a closed adoption." Luke nods his head as I speak, so I know he is listening. "I got tests back from my doctor the other day. They said I had aqquired leukimia, stage four." Lukes eyes begin to bulge. "Oh my gosh" he says. I burst into tears. "I jjust ddont want tto ddie like my mum." I sob into his shirt. "Lexi, it is going to be alright. I will help you through this, okay?" "okay..." I say still shaken up.

A/N2:i know.... it seems like the TFIOS.. that was her 'idea'.. but its her part so its what she wanted. I LITERALLY ONLY DID CAPITALIZATION AND WORD ISSUES. dead serious. i'll prob upload another chap about everything going on at the house... we'll see..
