Chapter 17: Reunited.

~Jake's p.o.v.~

I was still stuck in this damned bed. Bored out of my mind. "Hey, when I am I able to go home?" I asked the nurse as she came in. She checked my clipboard and said, "One more week. For observation. Those where pretty deep cuts you made, Mr. Pitts. Your friends did the right thing by bringing you here. You barely made it. By the hair of your skin." Woah... I didn't expect that.

I let out a heavy sigh and rested my chin on the palm of my hand and mumbled "If I had a guitar I wouldn't be so fucking bored."

The nurse heard. "You play Mr. Pitts? I've had mine since I was young."

Wow. "Yeah. In a band actually."

She was interested now. "Really? What would that be?"

"Jake!" Both of our heads jerked toward the door, to see Light run in with Autumn by her side. Then the nurses pager went off. "I'm sorry, I have to go." And she rushed out.

"L? What are you doing here? I thought you where going to talk to Ash."

The sound of his name sent shocks right through her. I could see it through her eyes. "He dumped me. Because I told him that you wanted to be in her life.." Tears where starting to form which only meant that she was really hurt. I couldn't find any words to comfort her. She sat by the bed with her head hung low. She only did that when she was exhausted or she knew she was defeated. Which was hardly ever.

Without looking up she said, "Jake.. I know I hurt you.. But.. I have no one to raise this child with.. I still love you. I still want to have a life with you." She looked up with tears streaming down and said, "Would you... Take me back? If you still loved me..."

Woah. Didn't expect that. I still love her with all my soul. So I said, "Light, I'd give you heaven and earth if I could. I still love you like a mad man. I couldn't stop loving you even if I tried. Of course I take you back. You're my life. And I wouldn't give you up for all the money in the world." She set down the carrier and jumped on the bed hugging me around my neck which, made me wince. I wrapped my arms around her lower waist and kissed her neck. Then she kissed mine. It's finally over. All the pain. Loneliness. Gone. Just like that. I couldn't be any happier now then I was before. She was all I needed to survive. Knowing she still loves me sent waves of happiness through me. We where finally reunited. After all those months. Happiness at last. And I knew she felt it too. Because she smiling into my neck. Like nothing ever happened. We are finally reunited.
