The human brain can only process so much. Can only bear so much. After that, it just gives up.
Daminion wanted to reach that point. At least then, he thought, all of this would end. He remembered worrying about his exams coming up, just a few days ago. A worry that now looked like a relief.
And then, everything dissolved.
When he lost his parents, he had thought that there could be no more pain. He thought that there could be no calamity greater in measure, but fate, it seemed, loved proving him wrong.
He received Dr. Stone's call, a message that was indeed vague, yet powerful. This, was the first event, of the series of events, that would toss his life to hell.
Dr. Stone was a great orator, but this time, he outdid even himself. Because for the first time ever, his voice was absolutely void of emotion.
That strangely, made it more powerful. Powerful, as all that was said was just the truth. Powerful, as he was ordered, to actually prioritize the completion of this task, over his life.
Just as this was done, the park, where he happened to be sitting when he received the call, erupted in panic.
Everyone lost their minds.

Daminion was no where near his destination, a set of co ordinates, sent to him over his communication cube, and yet, he felt like he had seen stuff that could leave no more scars.
He saw children killing children, fathers killing their wives, everyone running away from each other, everyone determined to destroy anyone.
Dr. Stone's last words were what explained this madness. People, randomly selectively, were turning savage because of another terrorist activity. A neurotoxin, airborne, and vicious. And then he heard an old man scream.

Injured, he struggled to make his way out of the pit he was in, and set out to complete what task lay ahead.
He saw acres of dead, and then acres of nothingness.
And then he saw Cristina.
