"Annabelle dear, would you maybe able to stay after school and help me organize the library a little?"

Annabelle looks up from one of her favorite books, Paper Towns, and replied with an 'of course'. She could never turn down Mrs. Dorine, one of her only friends. Well, she's actually her only friend. But Annabelle doesn't mind, she isn't much of a people person anyway.

When she heard the bell ring, she lets out a long, exasperated sigh, not wanting to start another typical boring day of school.

Walking through the hallways of the school she loathed, oh so much, she couldn't help but to roll her eyes at how the girls would say 'Omg! Did you hear about what blah blah blah said about me?' and 'He's totally going to ask me out, I mean look at me, why would he not?' Girls at this school were very confident.

Something Annabelle didn't have. Confidence. She never thought that her skinny legs were toned or tan enough to catch a guys attention. Plus she wasn't really that big in the chest area. Even though she was skinny, she wasn't 'curvy enough.' But she never tried to think of it that much.

"Hey loser, you have my history paper done? It better be at least a B." This makes her speed up her walking pace. Annabelle didn't have time the night before to do Jared's homework, with her job and all.

A hand claps around her wrist, turning her around so fast it almost giver her whip lash. "I-I'm sorry Jared, but I didn't have time to do it last night. But I can-" she was cut off when he snatched her book out of her hand. That's when Annabelle's heart really started beating fast, if anything happens to her books, she would cry about it for days.

"What are you doing?" Reaching for it, he holds it up in the air, to high for her to reach it since she wasn't that tall.

"Well, if you didn't do my history assignment, you must have some sort of punishment shouldn't you, since I'm going to get an F now." And with that, he rips almost every piece of one of her most favorite book out of its spine. To top it all off, he stomps on them. Real mature.

She just stares at the ripped up pieces of paper on the floor, tears almost spilling from her eyes. How could anyone do that to a book?

"Aw, don't look so sad book freak, I'm sure you have plenty more in your library of stupidness." Wow, that was a real good one.

"Whatcha gonna do about it nerd?"

"Please stop." She almost begs, feelings a panic attack coming on. Everyone's eyes boring into her head, waiting for her to crack at any moment.

"Whatcha say freak?"

"I believe she said for you to stop."

Now this definitely caught everyone's attention. Annabelle's eyes scanned the crowd, not recognizing the voice before. She couldn't tell which person the voice came from until a boy moved to step inform of everyone.

Her breath hitched, not from being scared of him, no no, but simply because he was the most beautiful human being she has ever laid eyes on. His black hair hanging slightly over his eyes, which were a hazel color. Her muscles able to be seen from the T-shirt he was wearing, not to mention he was at least 6'2".

"Excuse me? Who are you?" Jared snapped, fire burning in his eyes.

"I'm her friend, so you better stop messing with her or you're going to regret it very soon."

Well this just turned into a very non typical day for Annabelle.

Hey guys! I know this was really short but lets just say it about to get reallll interesting soon.
