薄桜鬼10I woke up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. I had dreamed about the furies taking over and chaos everywhere....a scene exactly like when I lost my everything, but with the furies making it worse. What truly scared me, was that Okita was there, and he was being ripped to shreds by those monsters. Without thinking about manners or looking like a boy, i ran to Okita's room.
"Okita-san?"
"Hm...?" He moaned. I felt horrible that I was waking him up...
"It's me...Kaori." I heard a bit of movement from inside his room.
"Oh ok, come in.." He said sleepily, but with more awareness than before. He watched as I slowly came through the door, and quietly clasped it shut behind me.
"Why are you here so late?" He asked. I kept quiet, embarrassed to admit I had a bad dream, but felt stupid I was here just to be comforted.
"Are you the one that's ill?" He wondered, feeling my head. My cheeks flushed.
"Geez, you're really cold." He stated, his eyes wide. He hesitated for a moment, then moved over and made room for me in his futon, raising the blanket for me to come in. I nervously moved next to him and snuggled beside him.
"You can stay here until you warm up a bit." He said. "So what brought you here?"
"I...I'm scared." Surprisingly, he didn't tease or mock me.
"Of what?"
"Furies..." He looked shocked. I could see his face by the dim light of the moon.
"But you know I'm a fury? Who is saying I couldn't lose it and kill you right now?" I kept quiet.
"I had a nightmare... You were being...dismembered." He looked as if he'd seen a ghost.
"You were...scared. And..."
"...worried. About you...." I admitted meekly.
"...I see." Okita replied. He didn't say much else. The last thing he said, before letting me sleep beside him was:
"Don't worry. I won't let anything bad happen to you again."
