Rose's POV

"I should probably go" I tell Emily as I stand up and when I do, she grabs my arm and I turn around to face her once again.

"Can you stay?" Emily asks me and so I did, without even giving it much thought. I set my bag down and lay back down on her bed next to her.

"Em, you really need to get out of this house." I say as I look around her room which was pretty messy.

"I'm not ready" She says and I shake my head, not accepting her answer.

"You are ready, Emily. You've been ready. Come to school tomorrow, I'll be there, we'll all be there" I say and Emily just shrugs her shoulders, "do it for me"

"You'll be there?" Emily say and I nod my head with a small, reassuring smile.

"Emily, we've been here, we never left"

"I know... Rose, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for shutting you out and Dani too. I don't mean too, it's just... I feel alone" Emily says.

"You're not alone, Emily, no one is ever truly alone. You have me, and your mom, and Dani. And let me tell you this, we love you. Wether you can see it or not, we love you. We love everything about you so don't fight this alone anymore. Let us fight with you, let us help  you get through this. You don't have to go through this... loss... alone anymore" I say.

"What about Madison?" Emily asks.

"They'll find her, they will"

"You don't know that, Rose... what if they stop looking for her?" Emily asks.

"Then we'll look. We won't stop until she comes back home" I say and Emily smiles at me once more. For a while she just stares at me and neither of us said anything. She then looks away and I grab her hand and squeeze it. When I do, I pull it up and see a small part of her bandage on her wrist.

"Emily..." I grab her arm and slowly roll up the sleeves of her sweater revealing a white bandage. I look at her for permission and she just slowly nods her head. I slowly remove the bandage revealing cuts on her wrists that were still in the process of healing. I gently trace them with my finger until I look up at Emily.

"I'm sorry" I tell her.

"For what?" She asks.

"This. You did this because you felt... alone and I... let you down" I say and Emily shakes her head.

"This was me, not you and they don't hurt anymore, well not that much at least" Emily says with a reassuring smile and I just nod my head.

"Don't be afraid of them, okay? They're... beautiful" I tell her and before I let go of her arm, out of the blue, Emily kisses me and taken by surprise, I pull away.

"Emily-"

"I'm sorry, that was wrong I don't know why I did that" Emily quickly says as she stands up and moves away from me. She was scared, alone, and desperate. I almost wanted to leave because the silence between us was slowly starting to kill me. I had never kissed a girl before, hell, I have never been into girls before and so it scared me.

"You can go if you want" She tells me and so I grab my bag, open her door but part of me needed to stay. And so, I closed the door and looked at Emily who was staring out her window.  I drop my bag and walk over to her, I grab her arm and she turns to look at me and I kiss her.

I gently press her against the wall before I pull away and she looks at me.

"Why are you doing this?" She asks me.

"Just kiss me" I whisper and so she does. Her hands travel up my shirt and before you know it, she was leading me back to her bed. She took her shirt off as well as her shorts and I did the same until we were both only in our bras and underwear. She pressed her body against mine and I pull away to catch my breath.

I kiss her one last time before she pulls away from me completely. My heart was racing as I look over at Emily who was staring up at the ceiling, her chest slowly rising as she breathes even breaths.

"I should go" I say quietly as I put my clothes back on and leave.
