"Whether its Akatsuki or the hidden leaf, they might have information on Itachi. So why don't we ambush them Sasuke?" Karin asks as we all stand at the gates of the small village we all met up at.

I tense up at the mention of Itachi's name but quickly let it go knowing that very observant eyes are on me at all times in a mission quite like this.

"From the number of people that you reported , it's most likely the hidden leaf Akatsuki always work in two-man cells." Sasuke says to which I nod. I guess he knows that much about us. "Which means that an ambush would be a waste of time." Suigetsu adds.

"Exactly. Forget the Hidden Leaf." Sasuke responds. "So what'll we do?" Karin asks.

And its almost like Sasuke manages to formulate the worst answer that would pop up in my mind and say it out loud. "Itachi is our only priority. Once we locate him, worse comes to worst, you three must stop the hidden leaf. For now, team Hebi will use the information Jugo gathered and Haru's intel to check out Akatsuki hideouts one by one." Sasuke instructs

"But wait, you said us three must stop the hidden leaf. What will Haru be doing?" Jugo asks with a concerned look on his face. Sasuke pauses but answers the question nonetheless "You'll be stopping her too."

My eyes widen and my gaze slowly turns to Sasuke's side profile. "What?" I manage to ask, admittedly very surprised and caught off guard. Sasuke doesn't look at me but instead clenches his jaw and nods once.

"Haru, I'd like to think that I know you a bit better then other people. The chances of you intervening in my fight with Itachi are extremely high. I know you'd do anything to help him." Sasuke says, only adding to my shock, shit. How'd he know?!

I'm left speechless, unable to formulate a quick enough answer that wouldn't incriminate myself. "W-what?" I ask, actually stuttering because of how caught off guard I really am. "You and I have never been eye to eye when it meant achieving my goals. So, I know that you're not a fan of this groups objectives." Sasuke tells me.

I stay silent, too stunned and tongue twisted to defend myself against Sasuke's very true claims. "It almost makes me wonder why you came to me in the first place, you have a tundra which will give you all the protection needed. Anyone with a brain would opt to go there first." Sasuke says, continuing to push the envelope.

"I know that you aren't trying to delay my plans, you are smarter then that. Right Haru?" Sasuke rhetorically asks to which I actually gulp out of nervousness. He has me cornered and I know theres no lie that I could conceive in this amount of time that would be convincing to him.

Why me?

Suddenly Sasuke is not so far away from me, but is instead right in front of me with a piercing glare on his face. "I'm warning you now Haru. Don't try getting in the way of my fight with Itachi, it'll only make it worse for you." He coldly says making my eyes widen like a deer in the headlights as I stare up at him.

Taking my silence as an answer, Sasuke decides to change the topic and ease the tenseness that has surrounded team Hebi from his sudden interrogation. "Haru, you should have direct intel on Itachi since you were in the akatsuki with him. What do you know?" Sasuke asks, almost catching me in a whiplash from how fast he managed to switch topics.

"When I left the akatsuki Itachi was out on a mission, I wouldn't know of his whereabouts now since other members don't get details of any other duo's team." I say, still a bit shaken from before but still managing to tell the honest truth.

I wouldn't know where the hell Itachi is at the moment because the akatsuki works in shady ways, I could only hope that he's so far away with Kisame and evading Sasukes wrath.
