A/N: I met Abby on vacation with an old friend (hereafter refered to as "Em") She was fourteen at the time, she's probably out of school by now. She, Em and I were very best friends for the few hours we knew each other at a lakeside beach. I haven't seen here since and probably never will. Here's to Abby:
Dear Abby,
(I have always wanted to begin a letter that way. That was awesome.)
Somewhere, there's an old picture of you, Em and I, but I can see snapshots of that day like it was yesterday: burying each other in the sand, making sand castles, swimming out to the lake. I remember finding a couple rocks and being entirely convince they were fossils. Thank you for the memories.
I don't think I'll ever meet you again. I may not want to- who knows who you are now? But I hope, wherever you are, that you have a nice life. If I do meet you someday, It would be hard to pick just what I would ask you first: How have you been? Do you remember me at all? Did you ever go back to the lake? But I think I know just which one I would pick.
What was your last name, Abby? We never did find out.
~Isabelle
