a week and some days later
"DeAndre!! Get your stanky ass up outta the bathroom already. I gotta get ready for school!" I yelled at my brother through the door.
"Shut up and wait your turn before I tell ma you cussin' again."
I rolled my eyes, huffing and leaning on the wall to wait for him to get out.
"Snitch ass nigga." I mumbled under my breath. "Oh what was that? Did you say something?" He said walking out the bathroom almost immediately after I had my few words.
I pushed past him and set my things down on the sink. "Yeah yeah, whatever. And next time, maybe try spraying some damn fabreeze. Ya booty stank just like the rest of ours."
He shook his head as I sprayed the can of air freshener before shutting the door. Finally, time to get ready for another long ass day.
Once I finished up everything, I slid my back pack on my shoulder and fixed my hair and outfit one last time. I put on some lip gloss and smiled at myself in the mirror before heading downstairs.
My mom was leaning against the island reading her daily devotion as always. "Morning mama." I said as I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek making my way to the fridge.
"Morning nique. You finish your assignment for history last night?" She asked as she looked over the rim of her glasses. "Yes ma'am you know it. I even got the extra credit done." I smiled while taking a bite into a muffin.
She nodded as De stomped his way down the stairs. "Boy how many times do I gotta tell you to pick up your damn feet? You aren't five anymore DeAndre."
"Sorry ma. I promise I gotchu tomorrow morning. I'll be as quiet as a mouse." He zipped his lips then put in his pocket.
My mother, who was never entertained with his childish ways gave him a sarcastic laugh and shook her head at him.
I'm the better child of course, and most definitely the better twin.
De was born exactly 3 minutes and 44 seconds before me, so he feels as if he deserves all the respect and as if God all mighty gave him the touch of being holier than thou. But trust me, I put him in his place and he knows not to mess with his little sister.
"You ready to dip nique-nique? We still gotta swoop Luke." "I really wish you would use some english sweetie. I don't have y'all enrolled in school to speak some gibberish." My mom said, shaking her head at him once again.
I laughed, and grabbed my backpack. "Yeah, I'm ready let's go. See you later ma, love you." I hugged her and kissed her cheek once more before heading towards the door.
"I love you guys, be safe." She yelled after us.
I closed the front door and hopped into the passenger seat of DeAndres BMW X5. We got onto the road, and I tapped my foot to the beat of the music.
We eventually made it to his house in a good 5 minutes. As we pulled up to the front, I turned to DeAndre and asked, "So when is Luke gonna get his license and drive that damn car that's been sitting in the driveway for ten million years?"
He shooed me away with his hand as he got on the phone with Luke. "Ayo, we here. Come out." Then he hung up.
I rolled my eyes and leaned my head on the window. "Stop putting your head on my windows. You keep getting all that damn black hair gel smudged on it." He nagged at me.
"Oh quit your whining and let me live. I gotta keep these edges on swoop." I said as I touched my head.
The back car door opened and immediately Calvin Klein cologne whipped my nose. "Good morning y'all, happy Friday."
I turned to look at the back seats and saw Luke sitting with a huge smile on his face. "Morning Lukas." I said lowly with a small smile.
De turned back to him and they dapped eachother up. "What's good man, ready to whip some shit up in foods today?" "You already knowww. 6th period bouta be lit as always." Luke replied.
I faced front again and breathed out heavily, pulling out my phone. I scrolled through my messages and found that random number that text me a while ago.
"hey chris, where do u live anyways? let's get to know eachother."
I sent the message and put my phone back into my lap with a small smile. "Hey, could we get going already? I got a quiz first period and can't be late."
"Don't trip sis." De said as he sped off and finally headed towards school.
