He lets go, and leads me into my house. I clench my fists as he opens the doors for me, and I furiously enter.
Zayn unwraps his hand from my waist, "I have to go sort some things out..Take care..Lily."
I nod back and walk back into the house, with the door shutting behind me. I jump from how loud it is and limp to the dining table. It's about time I'm alone.
The house didn't change a bit from how long I've gone. Different carpets here and there, nothing else. I open the fridge and stick my head it.
Hospital food sucks.
I pull out some made PBJ in the fridge and plop down on one of the comfortable chairs on the table. I sink my teeth into the sandwich and moan in delight.
Pulling an unnecessary fancy napkin from the table, my eyes get a glimpse of the stairs. The surroundings around it blur as I feel my pupils' size decrease gradually.
I revert my eyes back to the PBJ and gulp down some bile that got raised up to my scratchy throat. When I thought I would be free, it comes back like boulder on my face.
Just like the memories.
I'm in the need to climb into my bed and scream into a pillow, but I wouldn't be able to climb up stairs without at least falling on my face.
I huff and limp back onto the couch, and grab a cushion instead to scream into it. Blindly reaching the uncomfortable bump I sat on, I find the remote and toss it away, producing a shattering sound and some flying papers in between.
"LENA ARE YOU EMPTYING THE FRIDGE AGAIN?!" Liam's voice erupts from upstairs and my screaming comes to a pause. I hug the cushion to my chest and tightly shut my eyes.
"You better not be eating my peanut butter sandwich!" He scolds as he descends down.
I could tell his voice got caught in his throat when he flickered on the lights, "Laila? Oh my..I knew you were coming but not this early."
He gets beside me and blows off some hair on my face with his minty breathe and carried me bridal style.
"Let's go to the room."
"Who are you going to fuck inside this house, Sir Liam?" Lena's voice appears from the backyard and I lightly chuckle. She peers outside and smiles, "Better not be her."
My older sister runs towards me and kisses my temple. She gestures for Liam to go upstairs and glares at him for a good second. Liam mouthes some cruses and walks up the stairs.
I glue my eyes shut as we ascend, hoping Liam couldn't figure out my ragged breathing pattern. He places me onto my fluffy bed and I wish Honey would be present beside me, instead, she's squeaking in my bag.
"Your accident is pretty rough, Lai," Liam sits down, making my waist fall slightly down on the bed.
My accident was pretty rough, came to think of it, I never told Liam about what happened to me. I only told Zayn.
His retort takes me by surprise, and I guess he noticed it. He always notices the little things in people, "She told me."
My eyebrows shoot off my face, "What? Who?"
"Mama."
"What did she tell you?!" I frantically demand and rise up to face him. My hands are starting to shake, and the bruises on my back are starting to pulse on my waist.
"She told me you slipped and fell down the stairs...," Liam stops when he glances at my face. It's red, I'm sure of it. And I'm about to release my anger on poor Liam, "Whats wrong?"
"Get out," I shakily put my fingers to my mouth and gesture to the door, "get out."
He wraps his arms around my shoulder, "Laila," and I try to push him off, but he doesn't budge. I stop trying to throw him off, and break.
Just like shattering glass, I melt into his embrace and my tears wick his shirt. I even slam my head into his shoulder as I'm sobbing, letting it all out into him. He only just sits there, shushing me, and caresses my hair.
"Lena, where is Lara?" She shrugged in response and continues to pour milk into her glass. Her sixteen year old self took a toll on her and she's became very silent these past few days. I sigh and mop to Liam's room.
Lara wasn't at home in the morning and no one saw her come out of the house. Mama isn't in the house either and Lara is seriously missing out on the pancakes this morning.
I peak out of his door and he's on the bed, chatting on his phone. He sees me and raises his head up to shoo me away. I frown, and jog out to the backyard and cross my legs beside Hailee.
"Did you find her?" She asks and I shake my head, "She must be really good at hide and seek," she mumbles.
"What do you think happened to her?" I question and she shrugs back. I shiver from my own question. After what we saw yesterday, I figured she would be stuck in her room, not anywhere. The knot in my stomach forms and I gulp down.
"Maybe she went to Jaqueline's house," I crinkle my nose, we barely hear her full name, we usually call her Jack, "Or she's just getting something from the shops." I decided not to tell Hailee about what we saw yesterday, her day has been awesome so far at the shops she went to earlier for their accessory sale.
I run my fingers through my hair and put them behind my ear, "Yeah, she'll appear, I guess."
