You had never really taken a real tour of Vancouver, not even when you used to visit on the odd occasion as a child with your mom and dad. Since you had started dating Finn two months ago, it was all you wanted to do, but since you both had such busy schedules with school and everything, there was just never the time, and anytime you did see each other, he came to visit you. So rather than spend another weekend in your, in your honest opinion, quite dull hometown, you had agreed to meet up with Finn in Vancouver for the weekend, where you could spend it at his house. Thus far, he had taken you on a picnic, to see your favorite band in concert and out to a small diner. The evening was slowly drawing to a close after a particularly romantic day, and you walked together back to his house licking the last of the ice-cream from the cone you had purchased.
"So, what do you think of Vancouver then? On a scale from one to ten?" He grinned, walking backwards so that he could face you as you walked together.
"Hmm, I'll give it a seven..." You muttered, tossing the ice-cream cone into the trash as you passed it.
"Seven, why? I thought you liked it," he frowned now, taking your hands in his.
"It's just a little crowded, it would be much nicer if it were just me and you to enjoy it, all to ourselves."
"Okay, I'd let you off with an eight for that, but I need one more reason if you're going to give it a measly seven," he moaned and you laughed.
"I don't know; I guess it just lacks anything... magical."
He stopped walking now and you halted in front of him, his eyes glinting with the makings of an idea. "I know that look, what are you planning?"
"Come on," he turned, his hand still in yours as he broke out into a slight jog."Finn, where are you taking me? And can we slow down?" You panted, trying to keep up. You had been running for a while now and it was starting to tire you out after such a long day. Finally, he stopped. "Where have you brought me?"
"You wanted magical," he gestured with his hands, "this should do the trick."
"What am I looking at?" You looked up at the iron gates in front of you which lead to a garden and shook your head, "These are locked Finn, we can't go in there."
"Well if they were open, anyone would just walk in wouldn't they? And the magic would be lost," he smiled and began climbing the tree beside the fence, to which you stumbled backwards in shock.
"I'm pretty sure that's illegal," you called after him, watching as he threw his legs over a branch and began to climb down, now the other side of the fencing.
"I used to do this all the time when I was younger, come on," he nodded for you to follow him and you laughed. "If we get caught, I'm blaming you."
You began climbing, concentrating hard so that you didn't lose your footing or end up breaking your neck. You jumped down, batting your clothing down since loose bits of tree had gotten caught on you. "What's so magical about this place anyway?"He interrupted you with a kiss, hard and passionate, with a hand on either side of your face, moving slowly up to run his fingers through your hair. He chuckled into the kiss and you pulled away smiling, "why are you laughing?"
"You have twigs in your hair," he giggled, pulling them out as he sat himself down on the dewy grass with his arms outstretched behind him. You followed, laying yourself down beside him with your head in his lap. The cool autumn wind was beginning to pick up now and you shivered slightly in the thin jacket you were wearing.
"Let's share my coat, since you're so cold," he offered and pulled it off, wrapping it around you both as you sat up to get closer to him. He grinned at you and you raised an eyebrow as if questioning what was so funny this time. "You just look so comfy and cuddle-able."
You rested your head on his shoulder, feeling perfectly content. Without thinking, you mumbled against him, "I love you." Knowing it was the first time either of you had mentioned 'the L word', you held your breath, waiting for his response.
"Oh thank god, I've been wanting to say it for like two weeks now," you both laughed, "I love you too."
