Description:
Alex and Jesus finally have a 'talk'🔱
After the awkward encounter with Gregory by the graves of Glenn and Abraham, Jesus felt ashamed.
Ashamed of living in this community with Gregory as leader. He was even ashamed of himself, that he didn't dare to speak up to Gregory, punch some decency in the coward.Behind Paul, Sasha sighed.
"Sure I can't talk you into taking the extra room at Barrington house?" Throwing a pillow on his bed, Paul turned around at Sasha, who was making up the couch as a place to sleep. The pissed of women didn't answer and just continued to fold a blanket with furious moves.
Paul sighed, though he understood her, there was no reason to ignore him. "For what it's worth, I'm glad you're here." He decided it was not the best way to go hard on Sasha.
"Then make Gregory change his mind." She hissed, not looking at him, being way too busy with that same blanket.
"I'm going to try." Paul knew how hard that was gonne be. Gregory already spoke out about the situation. He wanted it his way, so it had the most benefit for him and him only.
"It's not good enough." Sasha finally looked at Paul, who sighed again and placed a bucket full of laundry on the floor.
"It's not. But the people, they need me here. If it was just Gregory, it'd be worse." The young scout understood where Sasha was going.
"So why aren't you in charge?" There it was.
"It's not me. I'm not a leader." Paul thought this over a few times already. It would be pretty simple to take over the Hilltop. Just keep Gregory under pressure and there you have him. But Paul knew he wasn't a leader. And he was never gonna be one. So someone other should step in.
"And what if I leave?" Sasha interupted his thoughts. "If Maggie can stay, I'll scavenge, for the Hilltop. I'll pay her way if you just keep her safe. Would Gregory go for that?"
"Maybe." Probably not. But Sasha couldn't give up hope right now and especially not Maggie. "But I don't want that."
"What do you want, Jesus?" Very good question. "What do you want this place to be?" Sasha was getting angry, not in particular to Paul, mostly in general.
"I .. I just-" Paul felt a bit attacked by the women. Best for him to just stay calm amd try to keep Sasha calm too. "I just try to help."
"Maybe you got to do more." Sasha looked intense at him. Like she just said the worst thing ever. But it was okay, he knew, he had to do more. Grow some balls and tell Gregory that he was a dumb asshole and should change his mind.
"This, uh .. This was Abraham's." Changing the topic suddenly, Paul reached in his pocket and found the necklace. "I found it here."
The sniper took the small, cold metal hanger in her hand and watched it for some time.
"I'm sorry, I liked him. He was one of the only people I'd ever met who could say things that make you smile and wince at the same time." He smiled kindly. It had to be hard for her. She just lost her partner, with who she had been for about 1 week.
🔱
What do you want Jesus?
It spooked through his mind. Sasha had said that, without the intensions, but she got him thinking and considering.Enough with the being afraid. It was enough. Paul pulled himself together and knocked with a bit of a shacking hand on the door of the medical trailer.
