The next day, I walked to Ruko's house to fetch him. I sent a text message to Ruko saying that I'm waiting outside his house. "Who are you and what are you doing here?," someone asked from behind. I turned to see the girl who glared at me yesterday. "Oh, I am a friend of Ruko," I replied. "Just friends?," she muttered.

"Yes... We are just friends...," I said. "Then what are you doing here?," the girl asked as her expression darkened. "I was supposed to walk with him to school," I replied. She glared at me once more. "By the way, what's your name?," I asked, trying to change the topic. "Nao Hatsumi," she muttered.

After a few minutes of awkward silence, Ruko finally stepped out of his house. "You're five minutes late," I said with a sigh. "Oh, I'm sorry... I guess I overslept last night...," Ruko apologized. "Well, should we walk to school now?," I asked. "Yeah, I guess so...," Ruko replied as we walked together to school. Right... The girl earlier... Did she leave? I forgot to ask the reason why she visited Ruko.

"Umm... Ruko, were you expecting someone?," I asked. "Hmm? No," Ruko replied. "Have you seen that girl earlier?," I asked again. "Oh, you mean Nao? Yes, she's probably supposed to thank me," Ruko replied.

I walked silently. She's supposed to thank him? Why didn't she approach him? And it is a school day...

We finally arrived at school after several minutes of walking silently. "There's a dead body in the cooking club's room!," a girl shouted and quickly approached a teacher. A dead body...? There never was an incident like this before... Is this perhaps... A prank? But, no... It's impossible, that girl is a teacher's pet, she would never lie.

"A dead body?! Who is killed?!," The teacher asked. "It's Fumiko Sumaki!," the girl replied frantically. Ahh... Fumiko...? Who would possibly murder her? Perhaps someone obsessed? "Should we check it out?," I asked with a worried tone. "No! It's too dangerous, what if the murderer is still there?! Or what if the murderer is a student of this school?!," Ruko replied with a serious tone. It's quite obvious that the murderer is a student in this school...

The teachers made every student stay outside the school while the police investigates the incident. What could probably be the murderer's motive? I pondered for a moment.

An hour later, the teachers decided to suspend all classes due to the incident. Some students were glad, and some students were nervous and worried because they thought that they might be the murderer's next victim.

Ruko and I walked home together. I had a strange feeling that someone was watching us walk through the empty street. After sending Ruko to his house, I nervously walked home. I had the feeling wherein someone's watching you although the person doesn't show up to you.

When I finally reached home and got rid of my strange feelings, mom told me to give a bento box to Ruko as a thank you gift for being my best friend for many years. Although I find the street creepy, I decided to give this bento box since it is for Ruko.
